I like studying police encounters being that African-Americans will have significantly more contact with law enforcement than anyone else particularly African-American males.

There is a protocol, a code that must be followed when dealing with police.

There is also a certain language that can and must be used against them as well.

This breh is a criminal defense attorney and he messed up.

He should have stated he doesn't consent to a search of his vehicle without a warrant (Constitutional Amendment #4).

He should have answered all of the trooper's inquiries by saying, "I answer your question with silence" (Constitutional Amendment #1). Stating it this way concerns the right to avoid self-incrimination, right to silence, as well as the right to remain silent during questioning. You are answering in this fashion in order to inform the officer of you exercising your right to silence.
