As a nurse, it’s one of the most horrifying diseases you can get. You’re brain is basically decaying, along with it, your memories and how to function as a human being.

I told my youngest brothers to make sure to put me through euthanasia if that were to ever happen to me.

Everything that makes you you slowly disappears and you’re just a burden. Nah I’m out.

Dementia is the type of shyt that makes me believe for sure there's nothing after death. At least no consciousness. Just a few damaged nerves and you're consciousness is done while you're still here. So why would we take into the afterlife when all those nerves completely shut off?....just doesn't make sense to me. This life is a dark comedy.

probably one of the worst diseases out there, your mind basically dies years before your body does.
the last stage is being a vegetable, cant eat, drink, go to the bathroom
I hope there's experimental drugs out there that can minimize the effects and maximize quality life

Well there are different forms but memory loss is a major, Have I eaten today? Where am I? Who is this person? What are these pills? It's 1994 and 12pm, I must be late for work, where's my briefcase. I should go for a walk to get exercise, but I forgot where I lived the last time so I don't dare go again. How do I use the washroom again?

That shyt is terrifying, man. Seems like a permanent bad psychedelic trip that progressively gets worse.

What is “consciousness” though? How do you know that this existence isn’t a computer program?

How do you know that everything that you experience isn’t made up in your own mind, including this comment that you’re reading?

What about your soul? Your essence? Your energy? They say that energy never dies.

How do you know that we don’t die and reincarnate to a fetus? Our minds completely erased about our past lives that we’ve lived already.

Like your “There’s nothing but blackness after death.” concept, these are all things to consider. There are an infinite amount of other theories and beliefs too.

People don't like to promote this because its seen more as a vice rather than a hobby but video games help prevent dementia and can even reverse cognitive decline in older people. a lot of the gamers brehs in the milennial generation are probably very safe from scenarios like this.
