Bucks beat writer Gery Woelfel tweeted that part of the sale price will be redirected towards paying for a new arena. The prospective cost of an arena will be around $420 million.

it's also believed Kohl, while relinquishing majority control, will retain a significant percentage of the team.

kohl pockets 550 mill and still keeps a percetnage of the team :wtf:[DOUBLEPOST=1397683518][/DOUBLEPOST]

They pay US Dollars if you play for the Bucks? All right then.
It would behoove teams like this to vote against a salary cap. They can get 3rd, maybe some 2nd tier guys, but they'll never get a Big Dog/Casell/Allen again.

Wherever whores go.....

The Dodgers were worth 800mm and were sold for 2 Billion :mjlol:

Of course, the year before the Dodgers sold, Forbes valued the Dodgers at $800 million, so it’s not like too much credence can be placed in these rankings.

Matt Miller, editor of Bloomberg Billionaires, told Yahoo the $2-billion Dodgers sale changed everything because it “really showed that you have to value all of the assets when it comes to the teams, you can't just do revenue from ticket sales, concessions and stadium-type deals and merchandising. Really the driver of this is regional sports networks.”

Dodgers' sale increased valuations of MLB teams by 35% - Los Angeles Times

um yeah they can
the way the draft works you draft a guy hes staying there for 5-7 years

glenn robinson was selected with the first pick in the 1994 draft
ray allen was drafted as well
vin baker drafted as well

look im a raptors fan, a team that has lost, damon stoudamire, vince carter, tracy mcgrady, chris bosh, out of the playoffs time and time again, a franchinse whose biggest free agent signing was a washed up hakeem olajuwon, all you need is a few good drafts and a great gm who wont sign stupid ass contracts and you can come back.

Hey bought them for $18m back in '89 :ooh:

Next time an owner cries poverty during labor negotiations you need to tell him :pacspit:

Billy Hunter: :pacspit: you too.

Chino XL :pacspit: you too.

They also going to make the people of Wisconsin BUILD them a new arena. :bryan:

If those figures are accurate, just doing the math in my head thats roughly a 20 million a year capital appreciation in investment return. Thats fukkin insane.

no, it is is not. Lakers, Bulls, Knicks, Clippers, etc would be worth 750+

obv

but milwaukee bucks is the tampa bay rays of the nba and still sold for 550 mill without a arena basically.

the thing is that no one is realizing this is the most a nba team has sold for and yet kohl is still keeping like 10-15 percent prob

just 3 years ago the dtroit pistons sold for 325 mill

golden state warriors sold for 450 mill in 2011 and are now valued at 800 mill

and jsut last year
Kings officially sold to Ranadive for record $534 million

and the bucks topped that.

the lakers are prob worth like 1.5 bill

This is a win for everyone...

...except, ironically, the actual Bucks players themselves.

if you own a sports team in MLB, NBA, or NFL then you are practically printing money.

I bet you Herb Kohl has not spent a single dime on the Bucks since 1995. The Bucks franchise and the NBA probably fund most of that outfit.

Same is true for nearly every team in those 3 leagues.
