Ridley fits the physical profile Shanahan wants, with all the top tier WRs getting franchised that’s the only way to improve the position is via the draft. With Chicago passing up resigning their guard I think they draft the nd kid now

actually, Ateman (who had a report about him that were interested) makes a lot of sense as hes a 2nd/3rd rounder and has something we lacked so far- endzone targetability. he doesnt have routes or hands to be a feature WR but hes that jumpball guy for the paydirt

Idk. Dez wants number 1 WR money when he’s a number 2 receiver. Part of me thinks he’d play better with Jimmy as his QB but he might just be washed.

Read something yesterday that we might let Hyde and Reid walk. I like Reid but I can see why he's expendable and Hyde has shown flashes but I'm still not sold on his durability, if we let him go we would definitely need an rb but Breida could have a breakout season. Sorry if that's been discussed already, I haven't gone through the past couple of pages.

He’s still a good jump ball wr but doesn’t get much separation anymore, depends on how much though

Why not? It's not like we're strapped for cash or stacked at WR. I don't think we should give him elite WR money, but I wouldn't be averse at all to bringing him in.

If we let them walk, we're haemorrhaging talent/starters and we need to be more aggressive in FA to make up for it. Our window is open now. I see us as where the Jags were last year. They picked up 3 starters in FA, 2 of which were pro bowlers.

Reid and Hyde are expendable. Reid is a worst of our three safeties. Hyde is an average rb that shows flashes here and there but this draft class is deep at rb and I like Rashad penny who is going to be a 4th rd pick

I still think it would be a mistake to let Hyde or Reid walk. Reid is a defensive leader and we are sorely lacking in that department. I understamd the injuries are a concern but he's a solid B as a safety and is still in the prime of his career. Also because of his outspokeness I'm not so sure he would be super valuable in the open market. We could keep hin for cheap.

Hyde we should keep for two reasons. He had a very solid last season and for as much as I like Breida he shouldn't be a feature back. Also Hyde was effective as a catcher out of the backfield at times which is something I wasn't sure about. We just need to draft another RB to make the cypher complete. He wants to stay here so I think he will take a hometown discount. Also I simply don't want him to go to the Seahawks and beast out.

If we are going to spend money on a guard might as well use it on the best guard available, so Norwell is the only real choice now that it looks like Nelson is going to be a top ten pick

That’s what I was thinking. We still have like 50 mil in cap space. I highly doubt that many receivers are gonna be out there.

I don’t think he’s elite or #1 but he’s for sure better than anything we got. Literally anything. It’d give us a big hire and get us more eyes for FA.

But most important. If we did draft/obtain a WR other than him... you still need another on the other side to keep the D honest. 1-2 good receivers would be much better if Dez was out there with them vs not

But who knows. I see him taking the pay cut honestly
