say mirotic doesn't come over this summer. we let deng walk, let hinrich walk, amnesty boozer, that would only put us at like $14M under the cap as it stands today. also, say we were able to get rid of dunleavy jr for a 2nd rounder or something, that would get us to $17M. even then, they wouldn't be able to sign melo given he's already making $20+ M a season right now.

$14M in cap space ain't enough when you got cats like cousins and josh smith signing for more this past off season.
When we signed taj to that extension our shot of getting max cap space went out the door

Best way to improve is through a trade

But I have always feared that this type of deal is what these dudes would pursue

These guys are good at drafting and made a great choice for coach

But we have done nothing to show we can do well in trades or free agency and I'm losing hope that this front office can make things like this happen

the taj deal could prove to be a steal if dude ends up starting and averages a double double. as a backup, he's quite expensive. I still dont know why we haven't been able to trade boozer when we have seen the hawks move JJ during the same time period.

Pau on the bulls is a good look.He will get from under that black cloud he's been in with the lakers the last 2 years and be rejuvenated. He can interior pass, shoot mid range, rebound and score around the basket.Don't matter if he's older he won't be here for 5-6 years maybe 2-3 Max

Miami's weakness is teams with frontlines who can score and rebound Pau and Noah will be just that.Anyone opposing this don't know shyt about basketball

They way people flip flop with their opinions on Pau Gasol is fukking disgusting.

All I ever see is people either shytting on him saying he's soft and well past his prime or you'll see the same people overrating him and saying he's a dominant big man that carried Kobe to two championships.

Pau is an Elite big and is also one of the most versatile bigs in the league. He's past his prime but can still be incredibly effective when used in the right way. The Lakers are not trading him anytime soon. The Lakers are not going to give up their best (and most versatile) big for bunch of younger less talented pieces. Plus Kobe has been adamant about keeping Pau.
