No- all of that “self defense“ went out the door the 2nd time that she stopped the car -when she proceeded to drive a few blocks ahead, park her vehicle and get out from the vehicle when she had already removed herself from immediate harm, she then stopped her car again , WALKED back into a imminently dangerous situation to confront them. That “fear for life” was removed when she returned to the scene. When a defense attorney could argue that she could have driven ahead, driven herself to a police station (if that’s what was necessary) or drove a few more blocks ahead to call for protection or take a report. The first time, yes, when they were blocking her way- she was justified in protecting herself. I still don’t get why she turned her back to a menacing crowd and why her passenger didn’t get out to assist.
