this is what pretty much the rich want. Their only goal is to maximize their wealth and to take as much power as possible... which is why you, the human resource, will eventually be discarded when they can find something more efficient. we'll be in a situation of the extreme haves and the have-nots. The haves will own all sorts of robotics and virtually all means of production while they part and parcel out sustenance to everyone else, and in exchange, they will require your compliance. We've seen what these robotics have done to many other industries, and it'll happen wherever they feel they can replace humans and realize cost savings. The trend is either robotics or humans getting paid third world wages.

The concept of a 'job' may be a thing of the past in the next 30 years. Soon, everyone will be unemployed and chilling. Even doctors and nurses be androids.

I dont see the problem.... would you pay a dude $20/hr to brown your bread with a blowtorch... or just spend $10 on a toaster

The question of the diminishing importance of human labor in an increasingly automated world is an important one, but framing it (or anything) under some goofy "rich = evil" stupidity is not the wave. Everyone in this god damn thread has capitalized on automation at the expense of a job.

Comment from the article.

If we can get all jobs automated, then there will be no need for employment and people can just spend time with each other.

If shiit gets too crazy, people will start growing their own food and living off the grid (using solar panels for electricity). People are already doing this because they are trying to be independent but after a while people will start doing living off the grid out of necessity.

but who is building the robots that build the robots? :ohhh:

at this point you really only need humans design and build the prototypes.
once you prove it works you automate the process.

now if robots start showing signs of imagination and creativity...well, that would be some shyt.

Good. Nobody should have to work that slave job for those slave ass wages ne way.
Right, this will clearly benefit the lower wage workers because the super wealthy will just create more jobs and give people better pay :troll:
