Another fool speaking on a subject he knows nothing about.

How would he explain the continent, who claims to know exactly who they are, always having to look to outsiders like those same Asians for everything - building roads and ports and hospitals, loans, etc?

In any event, this was largely the topic Brother Tariq spoke on Sunday in what was another hard hitting, truth filled broadcast.

Tariq Nasheed: Why Do People Try To Center Themselves in FBA Business?

I really wish yall can talk about Africa without perpetuating white supremacist stereotypes of Africans being incapable of building a society. Yall talk as if being African American gives you some moral and intellectual high ground here. As if every African American city is a utopia of independent enterprise and capitalism abd ownership, and not every bit as exploited by Asians or in need of "help" from outsiders. I will never get the bourgeois attitude of some of yall. None of us has any room to be moccking poverty or someone else's economic dependence. None of us.

Seriously, when are yall gonna get tired of this shyt. America is a diverse immigrant nation ("mY aNcEsTers wErE NOT IMMIGRANTS!" Yeah yeah spare me the poetry) Dude says all Americans have an ancestral homeland that they know is their home regardless of their nationality. He didnt say anything insulting about anyone. I don't see what's controversial here unless your one of these "thank God massa took me out the jungle" psuedo-historian hashtag c00ns I see here all the time who simply resents being identified with their own fukking race and try to wax poetic on the shyt instead of just say how they feel.

He should've known there are a bandwagon of c00ns on social media who hate Africa under some made up guise that they are being constantly disrespected by them and then they squander social media looking for ANYTHING too reinforce this nonsense and be fake outraged. This shyt is getting old.

@JackRoss ain't here to turn this into a st0rmfr0nt thread in the name of AA pride, so hopefully this shyt dies. Tired of

Actually it’s just the opposite. You don’t see us commenting on your shortcomings, of which you have many, unless it’s in defense of some ignorant shyt one of you has said first. We know what our shortcomings are. We don’t need another Black person who isn’t from here and has just as many unresolved issues of their own to speak on them for us. That’s the issue here.

And I’m sure you can build a society on your own, but the fact remains you haven’t. At least I’m fair minded enough to understand why that is.

There is more to "the chinese have china" as an example here, the idea that a strong Africa would be beneficial for the diaspora is true, he just not really knowledgable on what he's talking about (surprise an entertainer had a puddle depth on socio-political issues)

Black Americans did not suddenly deny our ancestry comes from Africa, Africa has its own problem and can't come to our rescue. WE literally started calling ourselves "African Americans" in the 1800s... It didn't change our material conditions at all, because it's almost like that isn't our problem here.

nikkas will go out they way to misinterpret what he said and turn it into something negative.

He clearly means where an ethnicity is formed is equally home as where ancestors violently were taken from (West & Central) Africa

It’s about acknowledging and understanding the past and the present as equal. One doesn’t negate the other.

Hence the African-American ethnic group.

No different than Afro-Jamaican, Afro-Brazilian, Afro-Colombian.

Afro-Caribbean and Afro-Latin on a larger scale as well.

Those names for ethnic groups all acknowledge Africa as home, linking it to the country/region where their current ethnic group was formed over hundreds of years because of slavery, as home.
As equals.

Yeah...I'm not African. Well actually, I am, and I know I am, cus I'm not a fukking c00n who wishes he was white. And I for one pray every day that I will some day see an economically prosperous Africa before I die. I could give a shyt about fighting for anything else, frankly. You sure as fukk wont catch me mocking poverty in Africa while celebrating this fukking country. I know it's hard for yall to believe that some African Americans aren't insecure cowards rooting for first world white countries over our own and calling it "pro-black somehow. Small minded fake militance.

Second this is fake outrage. He didnt attack African Americans, he gave some shallow diatribe about people keeping resourceful links with their home countries. Who cares....

But I know yall love this divide and conquer shyt so whatever.

Why would people be mad at what he said :dahell:

He really shouldnt have said anything at all. He is confidently spewing ignorance, and he had his publicist come out and throw that halfbaked apology together.

Now imagine me taking his same backwards arguement and incorectly applying it to the chinese people thriving and running bussinesses in Nigeria or the White people doing the same. Is this happening because Nigerians dont know where they are from? Obviously not.

His ignorance is taken even further by the fact that he is unaware that Chinese-Americans were also repressed and stymied prior to the 60s when the model minority myth was born. Coincidentally, this was the same time discrimination was ended by black people in this nation, benefitting those same Chinese. Of course, This says nothing of the poor chinese huddled in both eastcoast and west coast chinatowns in 2023.

The worst thing about it was that the interviewer tried to save him and atribute the arguement to chinese govt propping up people or them making an economic play from their home country ; but BurnaBoy then ignored the extended branch and continued his diatribe about people who have been here for 500yrs not knowing where they are from. Notice how he focused on lineage when describing the italian immigrant, not economics.
