Lol every nikka on that picture besides Tyler the creator is over 40 years old try again son. 13-31 years old isn't lil Wayne 31 these new cats ain't rocking with nas like that. You can say the same for Jay-z and lil Wayne with first two tha carter album covers and I like nas but all that stuff is old.
Really? They old?
Should I quote Kendrick Lamar then because he also said the same thing, as well as Joey Badda$$ and more of course!

Wasn't the article talking bout folks a certain age group. Ok I give you Kendrick Lamar but Joey Badass is still a local nikka to half the country but he does fall under that age group

Everything in that picture is recent?

Hey and ask someone under 13 to recite any of Nas lyrics.

And I love Nas once again but y'all ain't buying his shyt no more either. So do y'all still trust and believe in him?

So your definition of an influential artist is based on a child's ability to memorize the lyrics?

Interesting...

Jay getting co-signed by Oprah and the soccer moms doesn't make him as cool to their kids?

No kidding...

Young people have a natural distrust of older folks and at the end of the day Jay is a middle aged establishment artist...

It's only a matter of time till they figured out he's the old n1gga in the club vulturing youth culture to monetize his empire...

The turning point was him releasing Death of Autotune and its failure to be a "throwback jersey killing moment"..

90% of radio in 2013 was auto-tune influenced...

This n1gga is officially Tom Joyner Morning Show cruise ship status...

I was reciting Nas lyrics when I was under 13. Just cause he is influential to you doesn't means he is influential to my lil cousin generation is what I'm trying to say. If I play holy grail, Nikkas in Paris, or Empire State of Mind my lil cousin will go word for word. But if I play daughters :yeshrug: Y'all are going to deep with this.

Read the original article lol the Nas edit was just an edit by the poster. Don't turn this into ANOTHER Nas vs Jay thing..damn. The article was purely about an age group questioning his artistic integrity, that's it...and Jay's artistic integrity has been questioned long before any market research was done. He said it since 96, he's about his paper that's it

Exactly..it's not saying he isn't popular or doesn't sell, it's saying based on research, they don't trust him or his brand. Simple
Hip hop has never been a genre where parents sit with their kids and enjoy the same artists...It's been rebelious and anti establishment fueled since its inception.. I dont know why Jay, Kanye, Nas or Snoop fans feel they would be any different...

I'm shocked this n1gga has been able to hold on for so long, but the tide eventually turns for everyone...

And his business moves get more press now than his albums..he did a deal with samsung in the guise of a new album, that's enough to make anyone, especially a generation thats going to rebel against society, look at someone cross-eyed and question what their true motives are
