Isn't that the problem though brother? We have men in suits who golf for a living, making hundreds of millions of dollars while others make the product.

I say enjoy now because I truly believe one day human beings will wake up from this nonsense way of doing things.
Risk your own money, find investors etc and do it... No ones stopping you

Who says I'm not trying?

I already made my own apps. Me and some classmates are currently looking for investment.

The only reason I said that way of doing things is going to change is because of the progress of my current field. It's self made millionaires and billionaires galore. The ideas and the control all come from the same person/people.

All due respect, you're wrong. It's not a problem, and it will never change, at least not while capitalism is the norm.

I'm assuming you're an engineer, one of the guys that 'makes the product'. If so I'm not surprised you see things that way. But the 'division of spoils' is not unfair. Not if you have an understanding of how capitalism works.

It's changing right now. Gates, Jobs, Zuckerberg, Newell, etc.. These people are (were in Jobs case) the brains and the CEOs.

In the Software Industry people already woke up to that shyt.

Also, I approach things from a Socialist perspective. I think the Captalist/Socialist Hybrid system works the best.

:whoa:

Like I said, an engineering major doesn't prohibit people from going into finance and making a lot of money, but the effort involved in obtaining an engineering degree seems like a waste if some schmuck with an econ degree was able to get your same position

You can make an econ degree just as hard/"wasteful" if you double up with math / effectively do a combined or double major in math

Maybe people just want to have options breh :ehh:
if you're a shyt major at Duke or something yeah you might luck out and get a decent finance job but what if you don't?
The CS majors are qualified for bunch of different Google/Facebook/etc positions, they could go into startups, etc.

What can the shyt major do if his he tanks his banking interviews? Law school?

Lol at law being only option after banking

There's a million ways to make $$... Any smart guy with sufficient testosterone can get it

Limiting yourself to banking/law is a good way to work 50+ a week for the entire prime if your life...

Engineers lost. I studied some pseudo business major and make more money than all of my engineering friends and have a clearer path to clearing 200k in a few years. The only math I took in college was some watered down statistics course.

Engineering is a very middle class degree. Middle America type folks go gaga for engineers and don't respect people who push around money for a living but the people who really control capital are Econ, Business, and Liberal Arts majors with MBAs and JDs who use engineers to produce widgets.

I'm not saying that engineers are prohibited from running businesses, being investment bankers, sitting on F500 boards, or truly having power and influence, but these degrees require too much work for salaries that typically top out at 100k/year.

STFU you know nothing.

I remember reading these kinds of threads as a student and wondered why people nobody with actual experience in their field ever seemed to chime in. Now i realize its because 90% of you are clueless and have no idea what you're talking about.

Not every person with an engineering degree goes to work in some back office at sony, some actually produce things. Most CEOs have engineering backgrounds BTW.

There is so much money out there that you have no idea about and because you're a non technical person you'll never have access to it. If ever you ever get to a point where you're making 200k pushing around money you'll know what im talking about. Until then stfu and stop trying to belittle people with higher IQs than you.

bu...bu...but people who study Liberal Arts are stuipid :ooh:

Philosophy & Poli Sci Majors >>> Business & Marketing fags.

yeah but you can actually find work with a business degree lol .
It's a bs degree, it essentially is the Liberal Arts degree of business. YOu're not an accountant, your not a marketer, your not into finance, you just do "business". (whatever that means).

You can however find work with it :manny:. Sadly there are a TON of dumb ass people with this degree.

I don't think my university even has a "general business" degree :wtf:

accounting is one of the hardest things I've done in my life and econ/finance are probably just as hard. Is this article only talking about those general business degree holders? (the dumb fukks)

:whoa: da fuk..

anyway any business major who isnt accounting or finance is bound be a dumbass.

but you guys are missing the point on this gmat shyt... do you realize that because there are the MOST applicants coming from biz school, that will bring down the average greatly.

people who are engineers are smart.. if they want to do biz they are prob even smarter than a reg engineer. they will score higher on the gmat. same for all other studies.

biz people on the other hand, the majority (marketing, hr im looking at you) are a joke, yet they want to get that mba to secure higher success in the job market later on... problem is they are too dumb to score high on the gmat cause they never learnt the hard shyt in school. therefore it brings the avg down. finance/acc/actuarial people will score in very high ranges compared to mkt/hr/general/international biz etc.
