Bust Simmons - Sixers 2022 Season Thread

Tobias should be an all star. Outside of that stretch where he was sick and missing all those 3s, he’s been the Sixers most consistent player and he’s turning into that guy in the 4th that everyone said the team was missing when Jimmy left

He been the best player even better than Embiid so far this year. You starting to see that peak where he is turning into an all star

Not saying he’s on his level but he reminds me of a younger Melo. Has the strength to overpower smaller defenders and bully his way to the basket but also has the smooth midrange game.

I also like how he’s actively worked to improve his defense. Was worried teams would exploit him as the weak link in the D like they used to do to Redikk but he really stepped it up defensively

He's stepped up big time defensively, that doesn't get talked about enough

Tobias 23/6 on 48% shooting in the last 10 games...he making me eat my words of criticism . He steppin up big time.

Matisse shooting 46.7% from 3 while playin elite defense

I swear we just need to up our Offense up one level to be true contenders. At times I feel our offense is just nikkas taking turns working from the block. We still haven't had a full roster where EVERYONE is in rotation...Horford out, Richardson just came back, etc.

Ben is invisible against the C's and then steps up more agains the Pels ...Its getting old talking about these same deficiencies

The last like 2 minutes of that game were brutal lol. I was flipping back and forth between that game and Lakers-Heat. Lakers-Heat game was like 5 minutes behind the Sixers-Pels but ended up being done before it because of all those free throws smh

I was telling my boy it’s like the Sixers are getting a lot of “immoral victories” lol. Like they’re winning but you never feel great about the Ws because they always seem to show a glaring weakness with the team. So many games this year ended up being nail biters instead of blowouts because of a 4th quarter collapse

But the silver lining is that even with all the offensive struggles and Embiid and Simmons being underwhelming they’re still 2nd in the East and the only undefeated team at home. So you gotta look forward to how great they’ll be if or when they finally get some cohesion to their offense.

Simmons I think is almost too smart for his own good. Like he’ll be super aggressive when Embiid is struggling or out but when Embiid is cooking he switches modes and is just like “aight, I can fall back.” He needs to keep that aggression even when Embiid is dominating.

But as much as people are focusing on his limited offense, Simmons has been great on defense. That’s the one aspect where I think his game has taken a leap and it’s why I think people need to on all the “trade Ben” talks. I’m cool with Ben not taking 3s if he can consistently shut down the other team’s best players

They made TLC seem as if he’s only slightly trash when in all actuality he’s complete and utter 100% Oscar the Grouch trash Horford looked worst than Boban defensively tonight. He wasn’t ready to play. He can hit the 3 but he has to stop thinking he’s Ray Allen or Seth Curry. We wasted a lot of possessions on missed 3’s that turned into fast breaks.
