We had a decent backup center with Bradley and traded him for Hill. Only to not include him in a trade as filler or trade him for cap relief. We’re just waiving him :francis:. Morey hasn’t had a good move since getting Danny and Seth. Since then all his moves have been misses.

I won’t lie I have been underwhelmed by his moves since then.

Man they mines well run this shyt back and Simmons better come back shooting or they should let his ass rot on the bench

I think most Sixers fans know that running it back is the most likely thing to work

The sports media and general NBA fans are desperate for something interesting to happen so they are really cheering for some big trade that they can evaluate who "won" and "lost" the trade

Simmons coming back into that locker room is what im trying to avoid. If I'm Embiid and see Simmons bum ass back doing the same goofy shyt...Im requesting a trade :manny: and i wouldnt even be mad at him for doing it.

Youre acting like one of these soap opera fans in my opinion

Embiid would prefer some eventual 6MoY candidate and a few first round picks to Simmons?

Being able to blame Simmons for "clogging the paint" when Embiid clearly is just too gassed to post up or drive and starts shooting threes has been saving his rep for years

If Morey could get CJ or Hield/Halliburton for Simmons he already would have but clearly the other teams ain't feeling it like that

The man played with a torn meniscus in an attempt to will his squad to the Finals, while his sidekick did what exactly? Refusing to dunk on 5"11 Trae young in a one possession game? Having to be subbed because your ft's are at career lows?

No player is loyal to their franchise forever...look at Dame.. You keep putting non complimentary players around your star, that star will leave. How is that a soap opera?

And CJ deals can be done anytime...Sixers are being greedy.

I mean “work” is relative. Running it back is certainly the least likely thing to result in a title, and it might not even work for putting out a good product. The veil is down on assuming that Joel and Ben can remain tenable. Ben and his team are in line with dipping

It’d be far more likely that they have some implosion along the way than them keeping it together enough to even make it to where they just were

How do you know the CJ deal can be done any time?

I guess that's the main difference in opinion.

It looks to me like any deal the Sixers can make will result in a worse team for 2021 season, thus wasting another yr of Embiid prime.

I am pretty sure Embiid and Simmons spoke behind the scenes. Simmons should know his career is on the line this upcoming season.

Daryl definitely isn’t playing a game that I can grasp. He already set the bar high and he, for some reason, has decided to only go up from there instead of coming down. I understand knowing you have until the trade deadline to make something happen, but you’re really risking some horrid chemistry that burns the season out prematurely lol

Embiid hasn't shown himself to be capable of playing an entire season

And we saw in the bubble playoffs what a team focused completely on Embiid can do

It doesn't look like any return on trading Simmons will create a better team than that 2020 playoff team that got swept by the Celtics

Windhorst said a month ago Joel was cool with bringing him back. They’re just not best friends and the media has always focused too much on that. Nobody gives a fukk if Zion and Ingram hang out. But they want JoJo and Ben to be best friends.

People also forgot they are young man they have too much expectations to be young. Give them time nobody come straight out and win. It taken Giannis Curry Jordan Keem Shaq all those guys years.

I didn't name Lebron and Durant because they hoes and super team dikkriders

This is exactly what I'm talking about

And where's the discussion of KP getting traded because him and Luka legitimately hate eachother, not just "not best friends" but can't stand each other?

It took Shaq 8 years and Frobe to get a ring

He couldn't do it with Penny

Embiid going into year 7 I think?

Simmons fourth year was last yr and he regressed and his stats are only a little worse than Giannis' year four stats

You can use that bubble team as an example. That team didn’t compliment Embiid or Ben tbh at all. Josh Richardson didn’t spread the floor and was mediocre in the playoffs. Al Horford just clogged the paint and bricked 3’s. With Ben going down we didn’t have a real pg to run the team. Neto is trash defensively and undersized plus in athletic. He was a net - everytime he touched the floor. Tobias was complete garbage with the exception of Game 4. Shake running point was the most frustrating basketball I’ve seen from this team, that’s including seeing Ben passing up dunks for himself for assists. Even if Ben played they were getting smoked that team Brand put together was horrible and we’re still dealing with the aftermath of overpaying Tobias and maxing Ben when we still controlled him for 2 more seasons :stopitslime:. Trading Ben just to trade him is stupid but him coming back caps what we’ll do in the playoffs as does keeping Tobias. One or both have to go we’ve seen the exact same play multiple yrs in the playoffs. Tobias playing great in the 1st half then disappearing the 2nd half or games, and Ben progressively every yr in the playoffs regressing in production.
