It’s funny that this thread popped up. I just got pre-approved for a mortgage over the weekend. I’m looking to move to VA Beach from NYC for a new job. I see a lot of potential properties but they are being snatched up so damn fast. It really is a seller’s market right now. I was initially gonna wait a year or two to buy and I still might. We’ll see. I’m not doing all the bidding war shyt. If I can’t get what I want now, I’ll wait a couple years for the bottom to fall out of the housing market.

It’s so easy to get approved now and interest rates are low so I thot I was onto something. But everybody else had the same idea

Also, lemme just get this off my chest.
I need everybody from up north and out West to Fukk off.
You come here with your six figure income and your big ole savings accounts and while I just got my lil coins.
And you out bid me by like $40k on a house

300k is a traphouse in DC, NYC, the Bay, Boston etc.

you can prolly get a small condo for 300k in DC tho.

He thinks it’s great that his future wife was a homeowner prior to meeting him and didn’t need his funds to do it. Unless he’s an insecure incel that needs chicks to count his funds for a place to lay her head instead of being able to bring something other than ass and titties to the table...in which case he wouldn’t be my future husband.

Trump fukked up the new construction game with his China tariffs. Materials are almost triple the normal price.

I just bought what I hope will be my forever home a couple of months ago. But yeah depending on the lender and loan type it can be stressful. Checking paystubs and tax returns is one thing, but you feel violated giving lenders access to go through your checking and savings accounts, looking at every deposit and charge.

I just had this conversation with my bestie. I dont want an old house, but I'm also not feeling these new houses going up. shyt be looking cheap and the walls be looking thin as hell. And I second the issue with the small ass rooms. Us having a king sized bed is non negotiable I really want a Cali King, but I'll settle for the king size and nothing less.

And I also agree with this open space shyt. I also didn't grow up like that. Our dining/living/kitchen were separated.
