The only thing I recommend when buying an older house is to pay for a sewer inspection with a camera. Coworker bought a 70s flip reno house with a yard full of trees and discovered after the fact, even after paying for the required inspection before purchase, that he has to replace the entire system out to the street. Tree roots fukked up his system and the pipes under the house are rusted out. That means busting up the slab inside...

The bible belt in general has real shytty taste in new construction homes. My wife and I ultimately decided to renovate a family home :yeshrug:. We couldn't get with these new builds either....they either cheap looking, cheaply made, too close together and got that HOA bullshyt that we didn't grow up with. And outside of Charlotte and Greensboro especially, have some terrible ass houses from what we saw.

Your best bet is to buy some land and build your own home :francis:

That looks like a slight tornado or earthquake would have it crumbling.

Use that 60K to buy land then buy a used home and remodel it how you want
Hmmm...so I was looking at this option as well and just building.

If anyone has any experience with these home builders let me know.

The Ryan plan is what I’m looking at. It’s a 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath

Or the Cumberland

I like the room above the garage that can be a game room.

He thinks it’s great that his future wife was a homeowner prior to meeting him and didn’t need his funds to do it. Unless he’s an insecure incel that needs chicks to count his funds for a place to lay her head instead of being able to bring something other than ass and titties to the table...in which case he wouldn’t be my future husband.:coffee:
I hope you're familiar with NC or have family here. Outside of Charlotte and Raleigh people here can be pretty closeminded.
