Go to Nordstrom

Mens department.

they will hook you up.

Brehs budget is $500, you're not getting a great suit deal at Nordstrom for $500 unless you catch their Half Yearly Sale

If you are any body type but fat get the slim fit style. It will pretty much be tailored and look "custom" off the rack.

:myman:

Tyrwhitt was my go to but they changed the sizing up. It's not as snug anymore. I just copped that Brooks Bros Milano Fit XSlim and it's piff. Non iron:whew:. But it's bread:sadbron:

where should i should buy it

should i get it customed or buy then get it tailored

You can get your measurements taken from a seamstress or tailor, for free, at most places that tailor clothing or a suit clothing store like Mens Warehouse. Just ask them that you want suit measurements taken. For jacket and dress shirt, they'll take your neck diameter, sleeve length, wingspan length, chest, and torso length. For pants, they'll take waist, hip, pant outseam, and pant inseam.
For dress shirt, you buy a shirt by neck size (14, 14.5, 15, 15.5, 16, 16.5, 17, 17.5) and sleeve length (32, 33, 34, 35, 36). If you have a large chest and back and skinny waist, you will want to buy a fitted or athletic-cut shirt.
For suit, you can do two things. Buy a suit separate, which is the jacket and pants of the same fabric separately because you don't have normal body size. For jacket size, you have the chest size, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, etc. And you can also have length so you can get 38 short (for a short man), 38 regular (for an average height man) or 38 long (for a tall man). You could get a suit where the pants and jackets are sold together if you have a regular body. Usually the pants are six inches less than the jacket size so a 38 regular suit coat gets a 32 waist pant. A 40 regular suit coat gets a 34 waist pant and so on.

On short or long jackets, the length of the sleeve and length of the jacket will be shorter or longer so you don't look like a clown and it appears tailored.
Pants come in waist size. Sometimes, they come hemmed, and some come unhemmed and you have to bring them to a tailor to get them hemmed.

Notes: don't get slim-fit suits if you aren't a slim fit dude. The suit won't fit well and you won't be comfortable. If you are skinny, then they are okay.
Check www.esuit.com for suits that are under $400.

Since Suit Supply was already mentioned. Men’s Suits, Jackets, Shirts, Trousers, and More | Suitsupply Online Store Have a look at Combatant Gentlemen. I have suits from both stores. Suit Supply is nicer but Combat Gent was less money and still a good value for the money. Combatant Gentlemen'

Here is a pic of me wearing a slim fit tuxedo from Combatant Gentlemen. Midnight blue shawl collar.

Here is a Suit Supply Napoli Model in Charcoal.

Both were great fits out of the box and tailoring/alterations were minimal. If you are a bigger guy Suit Supply might not fit you, but Combatant Gentlemen has suits that are not slim fit.

J. Crew, Banana Republic, H&M, Club Monaco.
Go in there and try the suit on, suit should fit your body well, close fit, shoulders not sticking out not buckling near the buttons, pants should sit above your "current" waste, about 1.5-2 in below your belly button, pants should be flat-front, no pleats, there should be no break, and they shouldn't be a pool of fabric near your shoes.
Peak lapel/Shawl Collar, slim suit, 1-2 buttons, never button the bottom button, black suit/navy blue, black bow-tie/slim-but-not-skinny long tie, 4-in-hand-knot.
If you can get it to a tailor, buy the best fitting one, and for $45-$50 you should be able to have the suit fit pretty well.
White pocket square, folded neatly, card-holder no wallet.
