What's funny is I've never heard any man of any race refer to a woman as "exotic" irl, it may be more common now online. If I'm not mistaken BW started the trend when referring to non-Black women as "exoticals".

Exactly

No man sitting at a table with a chick and say “ you know I usually date more exotic/light skinned chicks”

Yeah some men might slip up and mention weight to a woman but no one saying “ i really into exotic chicks”

That's missing the point.

You can use all them old catchphrases all you want but the overall point is you can't raise your black kid around white people then suddenly be shocked that they're attracted to white people

And thats before we even consider the power media has in their constant promotion of white people
^^

Ok, “foreign”, not exotic.

LOL. They used to say both actually. This was all over 2010s twitter when foreign looking chicks were all in rap videos. Brehs on twitter would say they only want foreign or exotic women. This was also around the time when brehs would constantly shyt on dark skinned women on twitter for no reason.

I've never heard them say "exotic" in person. But have definitely heard men say they typically date light skinned women and that certain women were pretty "for a dark skinned girl/woman". I'm not exactly sure why but I've experienced it and several other posters have confirmed this as well. I think they think it may make them seem more desirable or maybe they feel that that should make darker women happy that they approached them. It could also be a regional thing.

Black women started the lingo with the term "exotical" dikk policing Black men. Men generally irl did not going around talking about exotic women when dating non-black women. I don't know about the Ds twitter thing.

What I'm explaining to you is that a lot of this definitely started online. I agree that it is only recently an IRL thing. It's also where the "preferences" term came from. Similar to the lady in this video, a select group of Black men would get on Twitter to tell Black women how they were not attractive. When Black women would push back, Black men would say that non-Black women were their "preference". A lot of stuff that went on during the wild Twitter days would never happen today, but it definitely did then. Examples include the Chef Way fiasco, Kevin Hart getting called to task over his "broke dark hoes" joke, and the other example is from a recent thread on here. And this is not a back and forth. I'm just giving some context of what I've personally seen. And honestly, a lot of the current gender war back and forths all stem from either online or podcasts.

Why you crying for? Just be better. That crying over colorism shyt in dating is BS.

If we’re talking about sentencing, detention, teachers, job placement. Then yes. But otherwise, ppl just gotta compete and stop worrying about ppl online clouding your brain.

As much as I was shytted on by girls during the “snap back and tattoos” era with all the lightskin artist flooding the media (Kirko, august, Chris, Trey, tyga, kid ink & tumblr) & girls saying I was too dark, or not good enough.

Gotta get over it. Find your market and be the best version of yourself.

I also can't wait for men to do the same instead of being online all day spouting red pill talking points about high value, hitting the wall, femininity, body count, etc. Let's not act like it's only women affected by all the online negativity when all we have to do is look around this site and see how it affects everyone. Secondly, I have a man, kids, and a wonderful life. So I'm good. I'm just pointing out what is reality. And I always encourage people to do better and be better in every aspect. If you read one of my initial points I said the same exact thing that both of you said about people being the best version of themselves and drowning out negativity. But what I also said is that I will not pretend that colorism (especially the nastiest of it which is constantly directed at dark skinned people) doesn't exist.

The only reason why I gave examples is because I knew someone would ask for them (which someone did) or say that I'm exaggerating. Now that I gave examples, I'm being told to get over it. Well I personally have nothing to get over. I'm just pointing out what people are referring to when they have these conversations. Instead of trying to shield it and act like it doesn't exist, an honest conversation about why Black men and women are so hard on each other would be much more beneficial. But no one is every ready to do that with all of the "holding people accountable" talk that I see flying around everywhere. So thank you for your responses and be blessed.

And also to add, the only reason social media came up is because we were having a very specific conversation about where certain terms and arguments started. I addressed what both of you are saying in my prior comments.

This is what I meant by failing to research and understand history. Hundreds of years of mental degradation doesn’t go away because “some folks don’t hate themselves”. That’s not how that works and due to individuals like yourself and the coli.

Black people will be stuck in this continued cycle of insanity in America . People either want to ignore the demons or say they don’t exists at all. Then wonder why stagnation is happening

Then date men
No breh, this is literally bird brain women.

All women, no matter the race or how good looking, get cosmetic surgery. Attack their sorry self esteem multiple times and it's bound to happen. Not sure if I brought it up already but Ayesha Curry light skinned and still wanted attention. The Kardashians got hella surgery. Korean women get hella surgery. You can take away black skin and that shyt won't matter because they'll STILL find something else they don't like. They will NEVER be happy. :mjlol: Why do you think the makeup industry is worth a billion??:wow::pachaha:

It's literally feeble minded bird brain women.

Only a strong father or strong man can instill confidence into a black woman loving her skin while avoiding the weak minded c00ns who think dark skin is bad.
