What I'm explaining to you is that a lot of this definitely started online. I agree that it is only recently an IRL thing. It's also where the "preferences" term came from. Similar to the lady in this video, a select group of Black men would get on Twitter to tell Black women how they were not attractive. When Black women would push back, Black men would say that non-Black women were their "preference". A lot of stuff that went on during the wild Twitter days would never happen today, but it definitely did then. Examples include the Chef Way fiasco, Kevin Hart getting called to task over his "broke dark hoes" joke, and the other example is from a recent thread on here. And this is not a back and forth. I'm just giving some context of what I've personally seen. And honestly, a lot of the current gender war back and forths all stem from either online or podcasts.

People will always be hateful. It sucks ass but that's why you have to big yourself up and only be with those who care about you. I had a coworker that said a girl was too dark skinned, I couldn't do nothing but shake my head. This is ugly and always has been ugly.

A regular dude who's fat, ugly, or short will not have the confidence of people who had resources to get whatever they wanted. Celebrities do not represent the average person's experience.
