What I'm explaining to you is that a lot of this definitely started online. I agree that it is only recently an IRL thing. It's also where the "preferences" term came from. Similar to the lady in this video, a select group of Black men would get on Twitter to tell Black women how they were not attractive. When Black women would push back, Black men would say that non-Black women were their "preference". A lot of stuff that went on during the wild Twitter days would never happen today, but it definitely did then. Examples include the Chef Way fiasco, Kevin Hart getting called to task over his "broke dark hoes" joke, and the other example is from a recent thread on here. And this is not a back and forth. I'm just giving some context of what I've personally seen. And honestly, a lot of the current gender war back and forths all stem from either online or podcasts.

Hart is a comedian.

What about the powerful black men married to black women? Jay Z, Obama, LeBron, Denzel. There's plenty more.

Exactly

No man sitting at a table with a chick and say “ you know I usually date more exotic/light skinned chicks”

Yeah some men might slip up and mention weight to a woman but no one saying “ i really into exotic chicks”
I’ve LITERALLY had men tell me they usually date LS girls. I’ve had men verify that they can see my veins.

Negros DEFINITELY say this shyt.

Hell- I was like 19 when someone told me he wasn’t allowed to marry someone who isn’t light skinned, but we could “date”. :pacspit:
Wasn’t even a cute LS dude.

I didn't listen to the song but as someone who lives in one of the most diverse cities in the US, someone not from or born in this country is a foreigner. But that doesn't matter because it isn't the word she used.
Foreign = exotic = not fully Black/fully ADOS. If you look at the video it basically a bunch of Latinas.

We not playing semantics. Everyone knows wtf Trey Songz meant when he said he wanted a “foreign”.

What about the 2 men she mentioned in her comment who are not Kevin Hart, and ALL the Black men who were going in on DS women during that crazy time ~2012 on Twitter? That’s way more than the black celebs with black wives.

Funny the negative jokes were about #darkskinheaxs #darkskins etc and not #lightskins tho :jbhmm:

LOL. They used to say both actually. This was all over 2010s twitter when foreign looking chicks were all in rap videos. Brehs on twitter would say they only want foreign or exotic women. This was also around the time when brehs would constantly shyt on dark skinned women on twitter for no reason.
Oh I know. I know.

No breh, this is literally bird brain women.

All women, no matter the race or how good looking, get cosmetic surgery. Attack their sorry self esteem multiple times and it's bound to happen. Not sure if I brought it up already but Ayesha Curry light skinned and still wanted attention. The Kardashians got hella surgery. Korean women get hella surgery. You can take away black skin and that shyt won't matter because they'll STILL find something else they don't like. They will NEVER be happy. :mjlol: Why do you think the makeup industry is worth a billion??:wow::pachaha:

It's literally feeble minded bird brain women.

Only a strong father or strong man can instill confidence into a black woman loving her skin while avoiding the weak minded c00ns who think dark skin is bad.
Okay

People will always be hateful. It sucks ass but that's why you have to big yourself up and only be with those who care about you. I had a coworker that said a girl was too dark skinned, I couldn't do nothing but shake my head. This is ugly and always has been ugly.

If it makes you feel better I find dark skin women beautiful

Yeah I need to edit my post, it's not all women, I was tweaking on that part

My point still stands and i make a solid argument in that if you made insecure women light skinned or white, they'd still be insecure.

That's not really a point tho, that's something that applies to everyone regardless of race or gender.

Men will get very insecure very easily over certain things like height, weight, hairline, dikk size, etc. Dudes out here getting lypo and breaking their legs for a few extra inches. If doctors could make your dikk bigger, millions of dudes would be taking flights to see Dr. Miami.

You're bringing up extreme outliers and what if scenarios. Yeah men can be insecure, but not to the levels of a woman. Most dudes would get clowned for any type of surgery because the very basis of manhood is to 'man up' 'be better' and using what you got. That's why you see confident fat men, ugly men, and short men.

I gotta disagree

Those fat, ugly, short men are just as insecure as the women you're talking about. Men like to cap like nothing bothers us, but those suicide rates for boys are through the roof.

Just because we put on a front to look tough to other men doesn't mean those insecurities don't affect us.

No they aren't insecure.

You think big pun and biggie was insecure? You think Eazy E was insecure? You think Pac was insecure? You think Project Pat was insecure? If they were insecure they would've never gotten to be famous. Eazy was 5'3. Pac was 5'10, by most women's definition, that's short. Pun and Biggie were fat. Pat was ugly. Them nikkas didn't give no fuks. But let's say you're right and they were insecure, They Didn't Show It. And that's respectable in many eyes

Men are told to man up and that's what we do. The weak men get clowned.

Once again you're bringing up rich celebrities as examples.

A regular dude who's fat, ugly, or short will not have the confidence of people who had resources to get whatever they wanted. Celebrities do not represent the average person's experience. If biggie was a broke fat ass loser who couldn't rap, he wouldn't be that confident man you seen in videos. He made songs about his insecurities and self confidence before rap. Big Pun would not be running through hoes if he worked a regular 9-5 for average pay.
