well you're the one who put all that out there. :dead: saying I identify as black first aint the same as "i hate my gender and i want to get fukked"
I just tried to search and couldn't find it. It was a UK based study. I remember finding it when I had to do a presentation on sexual harassment and was gathering up information. I found this article/survey on whether men would trade their race to stick with their gender. It was something like 6 white men, 3 black men, 1 asian/indian, 2 hispanic. All but 1 chose to give up their race to stick with their gender.

Race is a social construct, NOT a biological reality

get yall mind right, all you idiots picking race, moron ass motherfukkas

QFT. This is all that needs to be said. People are taking the question to mean more than its not.

If we're gonna get REALLY REAL...I'm only black because white people tell me I'm black. If I go anywhere on earth....I'm a man. Im really only a "black man" when I'm around white people. When I'm in my house...my mom see's me as her SON...not her BLACK SON. White people didnt come around until 10 thousand years ago...before that there were still MEN and WOMEN.

Race is just a social construct. You can remove my skin from my body....and I'm still a man. You can cut my dikk and balls off and I'm still a man.

I'd say Black female so I guess race

The only reason you say "black female" is because you speak english and "female black" isnt grammatically correct. If you spoke spanish you would say "mujer negro" your point isnt valid because its just dependent on language.

If I had to go to marches and fight for a cause, in the order I'd go:

-black rights

-black women's rights

-women's rights

The question wasnt "which march would you go to first" tho its what do you identify with first.

I dont even think this is a question...like it doesnt even seem as if people have an option in this case. Biologically I think we're humans first, then our sex second and thats just fact. :yeshrug: Being whatever sex you are is so visceral to yourself as a person, people dont even question it. But they question race all the time.

Let me ask some of you this....would it be easier to imagine YOURSELF as a white man...or a black woman? Would it be easier to imagine yourself...the exact same person you are except with lighter skin, a better job, and less athletic ability....or to imagine yourself with the same skin tone except giving birth, and having to ride a dikk, and lacking any semblance of logic? Which one is easier?

What is your point? Are you trying to justify being a c00n?

I'm the furthest thing from a c00n, bro. I'm probably the most culturally enriched black person you replied to.

agreed. race is only an issue because of fear and ignorance. but if that fear were directed some where else....race would disappear, but gender wouldnt.

If China decided to invade us, and send over a massive armada. watch how quick RACE would disappear, and how MEN would be called upon to defend their family and their country.

If you go to Nigeria are you a black person? No you're just a person, but you're still a man tho.

what do you guys believe warped your experience more in life, being black or being male or female?

i believe a lot of the obstacles we've historically faced as people are based on race and not our genders. if i were a black women, i'd still be black in america dealing w/all the stuff associated w/being treated as an underclass. if i were, lets say an white man. my experience, my parents experiences, my grandparents life experiences would have been totally different in this nation.

and i know we have all the "race is just a social construct" warriors, but until everyone else drops the race issue, we still have to deal with it like it's real. black folks couldn't plead with white folks that race was just a social construct when cacs were beating 'em with rocks, puttin water hoses on 'em, sicking dogs on em. we can't tell a judge that race is just a social construct when we're being sentenced unfairly.

The white mans main goal has always been to emasculate us. By doing that it gave them power to do shyt to our women or have our women leave us and work with them.

Ok cool. What was your point though?

:scusthov: This is bunch of bullshyt. It's disheartening seeing how many Kobe Bryant "let's all pretend to be colorblind" type c00ns we have amongst blacks. Race being a social construct doesn't make it imaginary. Race is a reality of life for humans on this planet regardless of it being a social construct. You're lying to yourself with that "I'm only black around white people" garbage. Tell that to all of the black people who've spent any significant amount of time in Asia that they're not judged by their skin color. You're always black first whether you want to acknowledge it or not. You've got it ass backwards man. Race as a social construct is the classification of people based on phenotypical characteristics such as skin color. In that sense we were still "black"(meaning people with dark brown skin, kinky hair, broad noses ect) before whites were around.

I dont even think this is a question...like it doesnt even seem as if people have an option in this case. Biologically I think we're humans first, then our sex second and thats just fact. :yeshrug: Being whatever sex you are is so visceral to yourself as a person, people dont even question it. Nope, your race is determined before your sex. Your race is predetermined by the race of your parents. Your sex isn't. You're "black" before you're a man or a woman. :heh: Do you not understand the rules concerning the concept of race or what? The race of a person is determined at conception based on the race of the man and woman.

Let me ask some of you this....would it be easier to imagine YOURSELF as a white man...or a black woman?
It would be much harder to imagine myself as a white man. I easily relate more to black women than white men. I really question any black man who would say differently.

Would it be easier to imagine yourself...the exact same person you are except with lighter skin, a better job, and less athletic ability....or to imagine yourself with the same skin tone except giving birth, and having to ride a dikk, and lacking any semblance of logic? Which one is easier?
:snoop: Come on man. This sounds like some c00n fantasy. The nerve of you questioning anyone's logic. The question is "what do you indentify with more race or sex?" not "who do you wish that you could be?"

The fact remains that we have more in common with males of other races than Black women. That doesn't mean we can't love black women, but there are BIOLOGICAL differences in the way we behaves as genders because of the effects of puberty and the different sex hormones. There's a reason that women are known to be particularly skilled at certain activities that men aren't (language/mathematics) and vice versa. All things held equal the average woman will have more in common with another woman (regardless of race) than she will with the average man (regardless of race) :yeshrug:
