Giannis is the reigning MVP. We would figure SOMETHING out on how to best utilize his skills and surround him with with championship level talent.

My vote is Theo Maledon

His craftiness reminds me of Goran :ehh:
But can he shoot? Dont want another Shabbaz Napier with our current lack of shooting from our current stars (Jimmy and Bam)

One thing to keep in mind about Giannis is that Bam and him have the same agent. There’ll certainly be some communication there behind the scenes so the Heat should have an idea of what he’s thinking

A hypothetical deal could be as simple as Miami’s pick at 20, a future second-rounder, Kelly Olynyk (unlikely to opt out of $13.2 million for next season) and Andre Iguodala ($15 million) for Aldridge ($24 million) and a cap throw-in.

If the Spurs asked for Kendrick Nunn, Miami could counter by asking for a future first-rounder (2021 or 2022) and/or the expiring contracts of Mills (11.6 points per game) or Gay (10.8 ppg).

Such a scenario — and we repeat, this is a purely hypothetical idea — would give the Heat a potential starting group of Adebayo, Aldridge, Jimmy Butler, Robinson and Herro and a bench of Goran Dragic and Crowder (presuming both are re-signed, with Miami preserving their Bird Rights in this scenario), Nunn if still on the team (or Mills or Gay), perhaps Leonard, Silva, KZ Okpala and a free agent acquired with Miami’s $9.5 million midlevel exception (Aron Baynes? Jordan Clarkson? Wes Matthews?).

this is kind of interesting for just this season. Keeps the core intact but adds someone who although he’s older and on the downside, did still average 19 and 7 with 38% from 3. Plus another vet like Mills or Gay off the bench could be helpful for another playoff run. In addition to whoever they get for the MLE

The downside of trading the pick would be having as many people locked up on cheap contracts will be helpful if they have 3 max contracts (Jimmy, Bam eventually and whoever we get in 2021) at the top of roster

If that scenario above didn’t happen, I would like the idea of Tristan Thompson for the mle or maybe a sign and trade for KO if he wants a little more and is fine with a one year deal. Wouldn’t play him and Bam together too much because of spacing but he would give great defense and rebounding

He says this around the same time that Harden wants out of Houston and included the Heat as one of his desired locations.

After seeing Dirk and all those foreigners on the Spurs chop up the Heat in the Finals over the years, I think he's a bit more open to the idea
