My last cac GM was actually cool she was not much older than me and she had a gay breh trying his hardest to brown nose with her. She shut him down, gave him no attention. Breh started to catch on and figured she didn't like gays... He acted like a child that wanted his hand held. Tryna get all her attention and she rebuffed him hard. He was a transfer from another department. Guess he figure that shyt always works :dead:

It was refreshing to actually see that not everyone plays into that shyt. I can say I've had the fortune of having good management around it really makes a difference because I see teams that work with bad management and it's hell.

Sounds like you are dealing with something...it's OK bruh, you can talk about it.

it shouldn't take you a day hidden away in your apt to "recharge", perhaps you just need to gain a new perspective and figure out why you feel the way you do..... Same with feeling mentally drained over office small talk. clearly that ain't healthy.

People are different. Some people are introverted and feel drained by having to constantly put on a front and smalltalking. It's not a mental illness.

You're missing my whole point. the thing is, it will never be enough. You may socialize, but if you are not socializing in the exact way they would like you to socialize then it isnt enough.
I dunno, but maybe y'all just work with some terrible ppl. My experiences have never been that bad.

I think maybe you guys might be overthinking this stuff to much as well. I don't think its that serious at all, and I've never really been a crazy social person like that. But as I've gotten older I've learned to deal with ppl better and just play the game.

like I said though, it really isn't that serious. Best thing to learn though, is how to politely remove yourself from a conversation. then you get out, and you don't look like an a$$hole.

this is a nikka who is about to be fired for getting to lax at work :heh:
this dumb nikka @Maschine_Man is giving them all the ammo they need to fire his ass cause he thought he was "down" enough :laff:

:stopitslime:

what ammo?

y'all paranoid for no fukkin reason. And the way I keep getting promoted and moving up and getting better opportunities I hardly think this is hurting me at all, and in fact just adds to my point that playing the game enough is beneficial.

introversion is not a mental illness, it's a personality trait and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. However, feeling drained or feeling like you need to take a day off just to "recharge" does show that there may be more to the issue than just being introverted. Social anxiety is a real thing. being introverted doesn't mean you suffer from social anxiety but those other symptoms may be explained by it.

And when someone says "mental illness" it isn't necessarily severe depression either. there are way more to it than just that.

smh, fukkin cacs and the nerve of them to spark up some causal conversation to try and get through the day a little easier with their co-workers.

y'all really are miserable ppl.....yet I'm sure you would have no problems complaining about why those same co-workers never invite you out anywhere.

y'all need to learn that playing "nice" at work, no matter how much you may hate it can be good for you.

honestly, you don't HAVE to do shyt. you can stick to yourself and just do your own thing.

But in this world, you need to know how to play the game. Get to know ppl, and network. life isn't about just going to work on this one job, clocking in and clocking out, it's constantly moving and shifting. Being cordial and playing nice with ppl is how ppl get ahead in life. This is why they say "it's more about WHO you know, than what you know". your current job and the ppl you meet and work with now, could provide more for you in the future, and vice versa.

Did you know that most ppl would rather work with someone that may be a little less productive but is a good co-worker and easy to work with? did you know that ppl are more likely to give you a good reference or better opportunities the more they know you?

you know why good opportunities are often given to the ppl that the managers know more than not?

small things can get you really really far. and I don't mean just be a fake fukk like so many others (believe it or not, most ppl CAN see through that shyt).

Shieet, I've done it myself on a few occasions. I had to go on a couple business trips...some good go's, and I was able to pick my team. You think I'm taking crusty as Tom? who just keeps to himself and doesn't want to do shyt?? naw, I'm bringing Ricky and Steve, who do a decent job, but are also cool to be with cuz I want to enjoy my whole trip as well.
You're either a cac, a coconut, or a c00n unfamiliar with systematic white supreamcy. Either way, get the fukk off the board and educate yourself. You don't know a damn thing.

Nah you're reading too much into it. Feeling drained by social interactions and needing some "down time" could be a sign of introversion. It's typically listed as one of the signs that you're an introvert.

I knew I wasn't cut out for corporate long term when I couldn't A) pretend to actually care about the company during our big meetings and B) when my boss sat me down to tell me I had the potential to make real moves in the company but I was going to have to start networking and all I could think was 'yea no, I don't want to spend any more time around these phony middle aged white folks than I have to'.

Worked corporate for 10 years and mostly stayed to myself. But I got stories...
