I hate hearing that “brother” shyt cuz I know if it came down to it they’re going to choose their own over any person of color so it registers for me as a phony attempt to make me feel comfortable enough to give them info to run back and give their superiors, and I knew one who everytime I came around he would start playing trap music(which is highkey racist) meanwhile I’m like bruh we’re not going to be “buddies” just because you play Future when I’m in your presence. It’s actually insulting cuz you’re putting me in a box based on what you think black people like because your only exposure to us is MTV, BET, or the news. They hate everything about us until we’re around them, then all of a sudden they’re so enamored with us and our culture, to the point that they go out of their way to emulate it and try to fit in with us, I don’t get it

There's this Super Mario looking cac at my job who dresses like Homer Simpson (Another Cac described dude's dress style) that stays doing this shyt. Thinking Lil Uzi is the best rapper right now, thinking he's on some "down" shyt because he follows mumble soundcloud rappers . Not trying to feed that troll.

it shouldn't take you a day hidden away in your apt to "recharge", perhaps you just need to gain a new perspective and figure out why you feel the way you do..... Same with feeling mentally drained over office small talk. clearly that ain't healthy.

The thing is no matter how much you do, it's never enough. White people want to be all up in and through your personal business. Even if you went out with them last week, if you didn't go out with them this week, your being standoffish. If you tell them you have a spouse and kids, but didn't tell them how you spent every minute of last weekend with them, then you are being private.

Im sure people here know how to be cordial and overall decent human beings on the workplace. But if we're able to just go to work in peace, we shouldn't have to "find a balance".

Get to know ppl, and network. life isn't about just going to work on this one job, clocking in and clocking out, it's constantly moving and shifting. Being cordial and playing nice with ppl is how ppl get ahead in life. This is why they say "it's more about WHO you know, than what you know". your current job and the ppl you meet and work with now, could provide more for you in the future, and vice versa.

Did you know that most ppl would rather work with someone that may be a little less productive but is a good co-worker and easy to work with? did you know that ppl are more likely to give you a good reference or better opportunities the more they know you?

you know why good opportunities are often given to the ppl that the managers know more than not?

small things can get you really really far. and I don't mean just be a fake fukk like so many others (believe it or not, most ppl CAN see through that shyt).


Shieet, I've done it myself on a few occasions. I had to go on a couple business trips...some good go's, and I was able to pick my team. You think I'm taking crusty as Tom? who just keeps to himself and doesn't want to do shyt?? naw, I'm bringing Ricky and Steve, who do a decent job, but are also cool to be with cuz I want to enjoy my whole trip as well.

possibly, I don't doubt that at all. There are many annoying fukks around my work place that I hate talking to. so I limit them to the basics and K.I.M. but not everyone is like that so I just pick and choose.

office (warehouse, restaurant, etc.) politics is real. if you know how to play the game/system, you will usually benefit from it.
