If so Monty deserves some smoke too if he had one and didn’t use it as soon as Cade crossed the timeline to set up his best play and prevent the early shot.

I just don't think he's "that guy" on a Championship team breh.
I can see someone like Wemby being that person while someone like Cade is playing a compliment to them.
Same problem I think Minny is going to face in the play-offs, especially if KAT isn't there at 100%. I'm not convinced Ant can carry vs the top talent series after series.
I think people are enamored about the pre-draft hype Cade: 6'8 "Ben Simmons with a jumper". That sounds like a tier-1 player, but he's not that. In reality he's more of a Devin Booker: All-Star potential for sure, but I can't see him carrying vs the best teams without a lot of fortune.

Detroit really needs a culture/ identity to be successful in the future. I don't think Monty nor the kids of the roster are equipped for it

He’s still young. He’s gonna be a dog at 25 if he stays healthy. Dumb play but it’s just one game. It is what it is
I don't disagree and I also don't see that as a major problem. They are so far from that point in the process of their roster building that it's one of the smallest of their issues. Right now it's been proven Cade can play, and at a pretty high level. Now it's about continuing to get players on the team that compliment each other's game. And having a coach that gives a damn enough to put a real effort into course correction for these young guys and establishing an identity and a culture. I don't really see Monty getting fired any time soon so the hope has to be that he cares enough about his reputation that he starts to adjust the way he approaches things with this team. Regardless of age or tenure it is still possible to grow and learn if one is interested.
