By NIL and transfer portal, as it it watered down the playing field.

“Watered down the playing field” Women’s basketball has historically been the most top heavy sport in existence. Players being able to spread out would make it harder for a team to sneak through the tournament dumbass :unimpressed:

Top players don’t want to play with someone who takes all of the shots. Even with all the media attention, top recruits didn’t want to go to Iowa.

Iowa had 1 elite 8 appearance in 40 years before Caitlin Clark. Made it to the sweet sixteen twice in 30 years.

Recruits don’t want to go to Iowa because it’s fukking Iowa. Same way recruits don’t want to go to Iowa to play football or men’s basketball. Hell I can’t think of a sport recruits do go to Iowa for. Wrestling? Volleyball? Nobody is going to Iowa city to live around 99% cacs.

Iowa was giving players 15,000 dollars to play. Compare that to LSU which has a reported NIL fund of 1.5 million:

Contrast that with Ju Ju Watkins. She literally resurrected USC and they have gotten the top recruit over the past several years. Clark didn’t establish Iowa as a perennial power. A two year run and that’s it.
Hmm I can’t think of the difference bereeen Los Angeles and Iowa City. I can’t imagine what the difference could be.

As for her rookie year, she had one of the highest usage rates in the league. And Aaliyah Boston regressed playing with her.

Looks it up. She averaged 14 points on 11 shot attempts with Clark. Without Clark she averaged 15 points on 11 shot attempts. What is wrong with you: these are women :hhh:

She’s a loser. Why can’t you people get that through your heads?

Are you that infatuated with numbers

Kelsey Plum was the all time scoring leader in 2018. Kelsey Mitchell had it in 2017.

Nobody said they revolutionized women’s basketball. Brianna Stewart won 4 titles in College.

Chamique Holdsclaw was on the cover Slam

Y’all act like Clark “revolutionized” the sport. She didn’t win shyt in college. Bueckers was player of the year as a freshman and the ONLY reason why Clark mania started is when Iowa beat South Carolina because nobody on that team could shoot and got blown out by LSU and taunted by Angel Reese.

Thats it. They made it back and got dominated again.

And people have been using her for clout ever since. She’s inefficient, flops, complains, and can’t dribble.

At some point if she doesn’t win a championship the dikk riding will only get you but so far.

:mjlol: Anyone reading, if I ever get this heated over the popularity of a female basketball player to shoot me in the face.

Clark drove historic levels of television viewership during her final two seasons at Iowa. At the conclusion of her college career, she was proclaimed the "GOAT of TV Ratings" by The Wall Street Journal, which wrote that her impact on television viewership exceeded any other modern athlete.[9] The 2023 national championship game, which featured Clark, was the most-watched women's college basketball game in history, averaging 9.9 million viewers.[2]On March 3, 2024, her game against Ohio State, in which she surpassed Pete Maravich to become the NCAA Division Iall-time leading scorer, averaged 3.39 million viewers. It was the most-watched women's regular season college basketball game on Fox and on any network since 1999.[10][11] Clark's first three games in the 2024 NCAA tournament each became the most-viewed women's college basketball games prior to the Final Four.[12][13][14]Her Elite Eight game against LSU (12.3 million), which was a rematch of the 2023 national title game, and her Final Four contest against UConn (14.2 million) each broke the women's college basketball viewership record.[15][16] The 2024 national championship game, where Clark played against South Carolina, again set the women's college basketball viewership record with 18.9 million viewers and was the most-watched basketball game since 2019. It was the first NCAA women's basketball title game to outdraw the men's title game.[17][18]

Clark continued to set viewership records upon entering the WNBA. The 2024 WNBA draft, where the Indiana Fever selected Clark with the first overall pick, averaged 2.45 million viewers, the most in WNBA draft history. It was also the most-watched WNBA telecast since 2000.[19] Clark's regular season debut against the Connecticut Sun on May 14, 2024, was the most-watched WNBA game since 2002 and the most-watched ever on ESPN2 or any cable network.[20][21] On May 18, her game against the New York Liberty set the league's ABCviewership record with 1.71 million viewers.[22] In the following week, Clark's games set WNBA viewership marks on ESPN, Ion and NBA TV.[21]

I think the mania started because she was pulling up from the logo and them high light clips were airing on sports center and she was averaging 30 a game as a 6’0 tall white girl.

Like duh :unimpressed:

You realize making a final four gets you a banner in college and that she won multiple Big ten titles. So yeah she did win “shyt”.

Bron is GOAT - MJ/Kobe stans activated

MJ is GOAT - Bron stans activated

MJ is GOAT (before 2003) - KAJ stans activated

KAJ is GOAT - Wilt & Russell stans activated

Wilt is GOAT - Mikan stans activated

Is any current player (NCAA, Europe or NBA) poised to be in the GOAT conversation...not counting Bron?
