Me and my family always joke the most racist man in the world is probably some old dark skinned jamaican man. But there is a historical context, during slavery Jamaica was a breaker island. The slaves were initially brought to the west indies to break them through brutal treatment into servitude. So the majority of the broken slaves would then be sold off to the colonies, except for the most rebellious and of course the best slaves would be kept for themselves. This is why there are so many jamaic00ns, and incidentally why the island creates so many rebels like Garvey or Marley.

I was just @-ed on Instagram with this shyt. I am so ashamed as a Jamaican and sad this is the normal thinking of most Jamaicans. I'm proud of my heritage. My mom is tar black and I love chocolate skin. My family has direct ties to Garvey and the Maroons of Jamaica and settle in the mountains and in Westmoreland.
