best way to maximize Ben Johnson & Caleb is by building out the OL. gonna be interesting to see what Poles does there. Feels like a notable FA signing is a must there (we have the $). Landing the top G out there should be a priority. And then attack OL in the draft. Must improve trenches

Hopefully that will take a few seconds in the draft and in free agency to fix that raggedy ass offensive line. No coach, quarterback or running back can be successful behind the worse line in the league.

I started to talk myself into thinking this as it began to look as if Johnson would be going elsewhere, but if you had offered me the option of either McCarthy or Johnson immediately after Fluss was fired then there would have been an emphatic call for the latter.
The stability point is a major one, but first time HC hires are not immune to bringing this. The Bears just havenāt done well / had much luck in hiring one who has been able to do so. Winning brings trust, and trust helps breeds stability. In order to win, we need to get Caleb to be a better version of himself, and I think Johnson is definitely a guy to do that.
