Cali is definitely a unique state from the weather and access to the outdoors but I always say this: you can’t eat the weather. Once you get to pocket book issues you ask yourself, what exactly are you paying for in Cali?

The public schools are bad so you’ll wanna go private if you want to give your kids a solid education. You pay high gas prices but good public transport within the regions that can accommodate it aren’t good enough. There isn’t even a high speed train from SF to LA/SD, which to me, is one of the highest failure of governments considering the Dems have had both the state assembly and state senate on lock since the late 90s.

Not enough housing being developed and lastly, state is like 6% black so you are the minorities of minorities. No real critical mass of middle class black areas

Side note: Cali is the size of a small country so of course you’ll have access to a lot of things other states don’t have.

If you aren’t here for big money moves just come and visit and KIM.
Nobody has high speed rail in America, it’s all politics which is stopping it

Yes there’s dependable rail transit in San Diego, LA and The Bay.
Let’s stop this right here. Anyone saying the rail in the Bay is dependable is joking.

Any region that is too top heavy in income will collapse. Who will serve the rich if the middle class have to live 2-3 hrs away.

The Bay is kind of like that hence many things closing early.

NE Corridor has Amtrak NYC to DC, not Japan high-speed but you go from NYC to DC in under 4 hours and that is through 5 different states.

SF to LA is one state and there’s nothing close to Amtrak. IDC, failure of government of the highest order considering the Dems got this state in a chokehold and Cali benefited heavily from the tech boom in the 2000s. There is simply no excuse, especially when this state prides itself on being so “green”

The Midwest
:what: why dont these transplants just move to the midwest why they always moving to the coastal cities.. they come into NYC making shyt harder for the rest of us...
What makes you think this only unique to coastal cities and the midwest isnt experiencing it as well?:skip:
Housing is becoming ridiculous. Non natives are moving here for cheaper homes and driving out locals of the community.
Elderly black people are being hit really hard.

Good, the majority are racists and white supremacists made that cali isn't a fascist hellhole like texas or florida where goons like abbott and desantis have carte blanche to enact their racist bs policies. The second anyone brings up this mass exodus from cali my white supremacist antennas go up because immediately that person is likely a racist conservative, nearly a certainty. Alabama and Mississippi have the worst infant mortality rates and poverty and illiteracy rate but this racists aren't fleeing from it? Its about control, they are just mad cali isnt a white supremacist hellhole like their deep south states are

This is somewhat related to the topic but can a city, state, or country survive without a middle class

I remember reading somewhere that if Cali was a sovereign nation, it would have the 5th largest economy in the world. It was like 3/4 trillion a year.

Push the middle class out and watch how quickly it will collapse. You can’t have a good sandwich if there’s no meat in between. ( :dame: )

An economy is always fragile when there’s an exodus of the middle class or when they become a few pay checks away from becoming homeless.

I'm not too excited about it but i'll be moving to Cali next year. I'll be out in The Bay, I'll probably be renting an apartment out in Vacaville or Davis.
