Before y’all get on me for chasing p*ssy being the reason I ain’t fw college rn…..CSUN got like 10 baddies in total, I ain’t pressed I’m inna sea of mid women the thing is I started this shyt chasing potential coin off this finance degree but nikkas I’m in this biz calc class and Issa breeze but it just feels like a waste of time, I’m a lower division transfer can’t take my upper shyt til summer but damn all these filler classes is some bs. I just wanna fast forward to when I’m the undisputed Mr.O, doing Mr.O shyt like lifting and chilling with some baddies, and making this finance coin by day. I’m 2 fukks away from being “deuces csun” lol. I know y’all ain’t stumble into 6figs with the skyscraper office so lemme hear some words of encouragement. Got me in class about 2 b like

It takes a lot of perseverance to make it to six figures in any career. The degree is just one step. Make sure you join clubs, and DO INTERNSHIPS. EARLY. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH.

Do not make the old mistake of thinking a college degree alone automatically means 100k job offers. Please do not. Those six figure offers are likely for people with a proven history and years long experience in this industry, not straight-out-of-college graduates. And your degree alone will be no match for someone just like you who also has internship and volunteer experience in the industry, as well as college campus activity leadership under their belt. Every opportunity you get to gain real resume work experience while you're studying, even if it's free, even if it was for your college, do it.

And when you do get those internships don't just show up and leave at the end of your "shift." Put in that little extra interest and work that shows them you really passionate. Show up to co-worker parties and stuff. Consider yourself part of the team. Forget that you're "only an intern." Don't be one of those flaming idiots that refuses to work too hard or do too much because "it's only an internship. They not paying me." I will NEVER understand people who claim they want a career, expect to make six figures, but then act like this when they get an opportunity. Some people's sense of lazy self-entitlement when it comes on to building a career is astonishing. Don't be one of those. Having a true career and being part of a corporate operation ain't only about money and getting paid.

And then there's resume writing, formatting, and cover letters. But that's a whole other thing. But take this shyt serious. If your resume looks like a cluttered black and white dinner menu of what your daily tasks were, it ain't good. Your resume should look like a well formatted, easy to read, concise list of your accomplishments. Even if you gotta finesse it a bit. For example if you were janitor don't say "cleaned toilets" say "managed and inspected over 200 public facilities per day, increasing traffic and commerce." Make even your normal tasks sound like a measurable accomplishment and always look at it each bullet point from a perspective of "what did I fulfill for the company."

Your first job in the industry will most likely be a 50k or 60k position or something. And you will work your way up. It wont happen overnight. I studied broadcast journalism in college and I work for a cable TV news channel you've probably heard of. I (mostly) finished college around 2011/2012. It wasn't until maybe 2019 or so that I was making over 100k. It takes time and perseverance and a level of passion for what youre doing. A passion that transcends gettkng cars, bytches and money. Don't give up. You'll get there friend.

There’s only one club at my school for finance/business related stuff, it’s kinda trash but I joined up anyway. I am still on the lookout for internships brah.
