Got my break doing internet marketing. Started that in 08. Low start up cost and I can pretty much do anything that can be done with a computer. That's me though. And looking back at my life there's no surprise how I ended up doing what I do. I've been dealing with computers since 1990.

@TruStyle what you have to understand is most people don't have time to explain what they do to everyone who asks. Especially on some "I wanna do that too" ish because the reality is most people can't do what I do. If I had a dollar for everyone who tried to pick my brain about this only to be left with the :dwillhuh: face, then I'd retire.

It's like asking LeBron James what he does. Can I do that? Maybe if I was a 6'-8", 260 pound physical freak of nature, yeah. But I'm not so I have to do what I can do. If it was all about replicating the next man, I'd start Microsoft, Facebook and open up Trump Tower today.

@JBold you need to identify your skills and find a way to market them. If you have interest in a pet sitting business ask about how to start up a pet sitting business, not business in general, because all business opportunities won't fit your skill set. Do your market research to see if your skill is actually profitable. I also wouldn't quit my day job. I'm sure you've heard the expression. In the beginning it's going to be a grind. Simple and plain. That 9-5 will keep food in your stomach and you'll need capital to start any business. I was able to get funding through an investor but that wasn't until after I had numbers to support my vision.

A lot of people wanna be the boss without understanding what it takes to get there. You don't wanna work a 9-5? Why not? I hope not too many hours because you can forget about starting up any legit businesses if that's the case. Is it lack of passion? If so, there's opportunity cost with everything.

This is getting lengthy so lemme conclude right quick. Get a job. You won't be able to eat or finance a business without it. Prepare to grind. And find a valuable skill and learn how to market it. BTW, I suggest marketing ANYTHING online because I started with affiliate products but quickly learned the same methodology could be applied to ANY good or service, including pet sitting.

Good luck, breh. :salute:

Im not even gonna disect the replies from the so called "coli business owners" . Its just too easy..... go into any thread and youll see 10 diffrent ppl screaming "be your own boss, start your own business" "dont work for anyone else"
But this thread only got like 8 replies......

Just let me say this to you.

Notice none of them said what they do, or what business they own, how they got started or how long they been doing it.

They all gave you general, generic common sense advice
They told you to save money, or get a loan to start.......yeah....
They told you try to use your degree in someway that relates to business..... yeah.....
They told you to network.....yeah ok...

Couple of them told you to get a job. :dead:

This site kills me :laff:

For real tho, props to the cats brave enough to even reply, i wish yall the best of luck on your ventures. Hope yall do make it. Im not hating, im just tired of all the hype talk.

What the fukk is wrong with you? Who pissed in your cornflake? There's a lot of bosses and business owners on this site. But think what you wanna

I have had my share of jobs, all of which have loved my services, but the 9-5 just isn't for me. I hate waking up in the morning and making the next man money. I hate being told what to do and I am fed up with the whole rat race thing. I already just left a job. If I found a job that I actually liked maybe i'd be alright with it but I quickly became fed up with the last few I've gotten. I understand I may need one to fund my business but I am weighing all my options at this point. Also, I go to school at night for my Master's so it's not like I'm sitting home praying for a business to start out of the air. i am good at a lot, I just need to find a focus. The pet-sitting thing was just an idea, of something simple I could start now so I don't have to get a 9-5. By no means do I want to make a career out of it even though I am passionate about animals.

:pachaha: Yep, the elite meet on the coli. We all bosses out here b :banderas: 100k coli squad bang bang.
We not talking about bosses fool. We talking about business owners/creators. fukk i care about some manager at the Walmart or Target for. :wtf:

Yous a fukking fool if you really believe that.

The plea copping in this thread is hilarious. Dudes writing essays on how they are too busy and its too complex to explain what they do for a living. Just pages of dudes saying they cant talk about it.
Yall so full of shyt, :dead:

Yes I can explain what Lebron does you fukkin fool, hes a fukking pro basketball player. No one is asking for him to explain how he got good at the game or where his skills came from. The simple question was

So for a while I have been toying with the idea of starting a business. I am 26 and going to school for my Master's Degree in Urban Affairs. It's only a ten class program so I should have my MA by this time next year. I am not in the program to get a good job Per-Se but trying to get educated on Urban issues and policies so that I can give back to my communities. I want to start a youth program and several other things but to start something you need money. My dilemma is I dread the idea of working a regular 9-5. The last two jobs I have had, I have ended up quitting the job less than five months in, most recently last week. It's not that I don't want to do the 9-5 I just feel I can't at this point, and lose interest quickly. I have my undergraduate degree in English and a Media Minor, but haven't had any luck getting any writing gigs. My question to you all is what are some of your hustles that you have created? I am trying to think of cheap businesses to start so I can invest in my businesses and so I can employ myself, or a support myself until I am done with grad school and find a job I'd be willing to do. I might start a pet sitting business being I have a background with animals and love being around them. Any suggestions? Small business start up ideas?

All the guy asked is what are yall doin/what business did yall start/create.

fukk outta here talkin about "my business cant be put into words" "what i do cant be explaind" :camby:Ive never heard such bullshyt in my life. It cant be explain or understood becuz it dont exist. Just say you started a website like the rest of em b.

You dont have time to explain? You fukkin sought this thread out and took time to reply, but now you dont have time to say what you do. :aicmon::aicmon: You just far too busy for that huh.

So 4 pages and and only one person said what business they started......
Alot of shyt talking and no substance, just like every coli business owners thread.

The coli does it again. same way every time :blessed:

Yall keep up the charade to entertain strangers, we all know whats going on here :shaq2:
Yall some sad dudes for real. I feel bad for yall

What more can i say, im outta this thread tho, nothing left to discuss

Lol at this thread being avoided. Breh all them dudes who talk that own your own business shyt do not actually run one. Its just rhetoric they repeat to try and make you think they are making moves.

Other than a couple vauge descriptions of websites a couple ppl run. You will find no actual business owners here.

I've asked these dudes to link me to their product and websites so I can support them. I've gotten 0 so far.....

:comeon: just because nikkas aren't trying to put you on to game doesn't mean they aren't making moves. some people like to keep their personal hustles away from the lunatics on this forum.

But go ahead breh, do you, of course you gonna be making 100k, bout time you catch up the rest of the ppl on here, 100k is the default minimum for the coli, ive read some figures, less than 20% of households ever reach the 100k, households means 2 income. Only 12% of the population who are single ever make more than 100k, but 90% of the coli making 100k or more ....:pachaha:

i know this sounds stupid, but

dont focus on the money. I was like :stopitslime: when someone told me that... obviously the response is "that's easy for u to say, nikka u already have capital and a business to build on"

But that's not true.... you should think about whatever ur purpose is first and focus on that shyt like you life depends on it ---- then the money will come.

Just don't focus on the money and ur decisions will be better in the long run.... and the money will come.

Pretty much just figure out what people spend money on for long periods of time and try to offer a service for it without borrowing a bunch of money to do so.

That's how I've been trying to go about it. I keep an "idea" list and research what I can. Some ideas I learn may cost me a couple thousand to start and I don't have that right now so I just go back to the drawing board. There is SOMETHING everyone can do for a low start-up cost to start an generate some income. No, you're not going to make a lot right away but that's why you always try to generate ideas to grow your business.

Thanks who ever has contributed it's greatly appreciated. I just found another job and gave them an ultimatum that they conformed to so I will be trying to stack and investing into my businesses. Once again, to those who have tried to help, thank you I appreciate it.

Trademarked the name to a Youth Center yesterday. I stated earlier that my girl is a teacher and she wants to do this so we are partnering up on it. I also have an interest into getting into clothing..have a few dope concepts. There are a few more things that me and others are thinking about partnering up on also.
