last one I got away with I called in sick, they asked me for what and I said 'feast of maximum occupancy'

You're cool.Exactly. These people arent your parents.
I just call or text the owner and say "I'm not gonna make it in today."
He may ask "What you sick or something?" and I just say "Nah, Im just not coming." "Oh okay. You using a day?"..."Uhh, what am I at for the year, 3? 4?...Nah. I'll take the hit. See you tomorrow."

When you get that email saying use your vacation time by the end of the year so you take like 2 weeks offOnly once this year and i was actually sick and had a doctor's excuse so i guess you can say none.
This thread just reminded me that i got 14 vacation days left![]()

I've worked in several sectors and my etiquette has always been the same. Your position in the company you work for will dictate your ability to do certain things. I rarely took days off in the past but recently, I've taken a lot of days. Now some jobs are just more difficult to take days because everything very well may stop for the office/dept if you arent there but if I need the day, for whatever reason, I'm taking the day. If they want to start shyt then their paperwork better be in order to do so.That aside, I never give them information because you arent required to do so. If they ask me things they shoudlnt, I let them feel the tension that perhaps, they stepped over the line in asking.Truthfully most jobs aren't like that they will look at u sideways for even thinking about calling in I have had both kinds of jobs before lol.

so I'm trying to build it back up.
I agree with you to an extent I think culture of a company has alot to do with it though.I've worked in several sectors and my etiquette has always been the same.
