yall clearly have no idea how retail/fast food works. there are tons of people who have worked these jobs for 15+ years and still haven't hit a salaried position (altho some don't want to and/or don't have the work ethic to), it's both a numbers and politics games. like i said, i just got done working closely with retail workers for the past 5 months, there aren't enough spots to move everyone up, especially when you count lateral hires and in the case of fast food, managers who oversee multiple shops.
i didn't read the whole thing, so i don't know what else was going on in his life, but it's not that simple. and when you're in that position, what you gonna do? quit and go get the same bullshyt pay at another company doing the same thing? ok

It isn't that simple. It's mathematically impossible for everyone to just "move on" from working a low-wage job, meaning someone has to work these types of jobs. Not everyone has the opportunity to go to college and find a better-paying career. Hell, even people who do earn college degrees are struggling right now.
Plus, most people I see working fast-food jobs are older women who probably have families to feed. You think they're working there out of laziness? Most fast-food and retail jobs are physically taxing and the work is stressful. Why would someone supporting a family work there if they could just move on? Not everyone has options. These jobs aren't supposed to be long-term careers, but some people really have no choice.
Not to mention, according to Forbes, McDonald's brought in about $27 billion in revenue last year. They can afford to at least pay their low-level workers a livable wage. Of course their greed would get in the way of that. These corporations/CEOs are running people into the ground and paying them embarrassingly low wages, all while trying to convince us that they can't afford to pay higher salaries.
It's easy to say people should just leave and find better jobs, but we are still in a recession, brehs. Sometimes you have to take what you can get.

you sound young and dumb. I never did sour hour but cats that I knew who did that never was "the man." I was on the browns and the calrissa explains it all. I had to grind to get right and the sht took a long time. what people fail to realize is just cuz you have work dont mean it sell itself ( if your smart about it) I never sold to feind i didnt know, i had to build a client base ( took damn near 6 months), I took shorts, got played, lost work, help my mans out, got bad work etc. after all the dumb shyt, I probably made 20k a year but it wasnt worth it because I had to deal with the " hood politics" that come with it. everbody that hustle doesnt live the life that ross portray, the shyt is hard work. constant setbacks, haters, police, etc shyt was a everyday struggle. stay in school lil nikka, that life is not for you
