A one yard QB dive\run is a different animal than diving recklessly into a pile for a bouncing football..... all in all, it doesn't matter...

He gave his reason, and that's pretty much the end of it.....
Not really

Because these dudes would do the same shyt. These cats probably never played tackle football so they can relate to being afraid to get hurt.

Breh, there was over 4 minutes left in the game, it was 3rd down, yal had 3 timeouts and the 2 minute warning...

Yeah the fumble didn't lose the game for your team, but recovering the fumble still gives you a shot at winning the game. Not recovering the fumble basically guarantees that Denver is going to get at least 3 points, and push the game to being a 2 possession game.

I respect the honesty, but that response just confirms that he was shook.

Nah. Not really.. I've seen Peyton\Brady throw pics and jog to the other side of the field to avoid getting caught with a vicious block..........
In a superbowl?? Plus you really comparing jumping on a football 2 feet in front of you to running down the field and trying to make a tackle after a pick? Come on breh

Breh, that was the Superbowl. Ronnie Lott was willing to lose a finger to win a game. Are we condoning not giving your all because of fear of an injury?
What you think losing a finger was the worst possible scenario from this situation?

Carolina wasn't able to handle that pass rush anyway. People are ignoring the slow start from the defense and WRs dropping passes all game.

The game wasn't won or lost on that play. I have zero problem with someone putting their health first.

Y'all cool with this?

:dead:

What's not to be cool with when an athlete is being honest? You don't have to agree with what he said or did on the field in relation to that fumble, but you can't not be cool with a dude keeping it 100 with the people.

The fumble play had me perplexed but now that he came out and said what he did, I understand his thought process. It is what it is. I'm not his teammate so it doesn't really matter anyway, he gotta live with it in that locker room. If his teammates are fine with his decision, so be it.
