and both of those teams won
Yeah because they Nets don’t get to the free throw line or put pressure on the rim. You’re over here talking about Cam while Ben had 2 points and won’t look at the basket. If Ben can average 12 PPG they win both games. No Claxton, no Cam Johnson - Ben basically playing the 5 but won’t attack the rim and inconsistent 3 point shooting. If he doesn’t shoot we are getting blown out in these games.

People are blaming a 22 year old for being asked to be the first option on a team lacking in offense. If Cam replaced Jalen Green on the Rockets you wouldn’t hear any of this shyt.

And people have been criticizing Simmons for it. Hell @Malcolmxxx_23 made a thread about it yesterday trying to hype him up and that exact detail was brought up.

Team is 1-4 whenever he scores 40+
Thank you for this ESPN ass stat, now ask yourself why he is shooting that much in the first place? Because the Nets consistently only have 1 other guy in the court that teams respect enough offensively.

Whenever Cam was coming off the bench the team was losing when he came in and he was scoring to bring them back. So they made the decision to start him so they’re not always playing from behind. But guess what? They’re just not very good on the interior defensively without Claxton and Royce playing instead of Cam Johnson is a net loss every time. You’re blaming a young player on a team of third options and role players.

Ben wouldn't even be in uniform till he passes 10 sporcle quizzes about basketball.

I'm not blaming Cam for the losses. The Nets are gonna lose games like this all season long, but this might be the only time Cam ever gets the authorization to take 22 shots a game. I'm not bashing Cam. He's a bucket. I've advocated for him to play more, but no good team is gonna say, do what you do and we'll work around your deficiencies. He's gotta get better at something other than scoring. That's also on Vaughn but if Cam doesn't become even below average defensively, he's Knicks Jamal Crawford.

I do think he’s been average defensively this year. But I also haven’t seen the entirety of the last two games. I hear your point though. But to the playmaking point, he had as many assists last night as anyone else on the team. It’s a team problem because you consistently have baskets passed up at the rim. They need the Claxton lob threat back.

Score 30 and then give it back on defense. Don’t worry it won’t show up in the box scores and people who point it out will be called “nerds”.
