What are you dudes basing your shyt about black people not owning shyt?
NO MAN OWNS OR FOUNDED ANY OF THE MAJOR LABELS. You'll have to go back 80 years and see who started these small labels smaller than Roc-a-fella or Cash Money or whatever the fukk.. All these small labels creates the majors(and birdman owns cmr, he's just not the sole owner). Why don't we own sports teams? Cause it's a billionaires game, we didn't have complete freedom until what 50 years ago? We missed the whole industrial revolution and on.. So obviously with how the system works it will take some time for us to grow in the amount of billionaires in order to own more sports teams. You dudes are strictly analyzing musicians and athletes and asking why we don't own shyt. Why does white athletes or musicians own shyt? Why didn't Paul McCartney who is way richer than Jay start a major label? These are smart people we are talking about yet you wanna talk about them as if they were all fools and the coli posters know a lot better.
To even speak of "generational wealth" in 2013 in regards to black people is disrespecting the history of why we don't have any.
Which is why I didn't say shyt about having it now....
If jay and them KEPT roc instead of selling it off bit by bit. Then selling it completely. Only for "worth half a billy" Jay to sign to another label when he already owned one...... Then maybe blue ivy's great grand kids would be teaming up with baby's great great grand kids along with diddys....... To put that shyt together
Paul McCartney couldn't even buy his own masters. MJ bought those out so get him out of here. Jay was a label owner. Now he's on a label. Jay was a sports team owner, albeit small... Now he's partnered with CAA as a figurehead. He have up ownership for bigger checks
Where Jordan is a franchise owner. So don't say we aren't owners. He went from an employee to an owner. He can pass that to his kids and their kids and their kids. The Jordan's can be a household name in 200 years if the nba is around in 200 years and they don't sell it off. Jay ain't leaving blue no damn ownership
Oprah got her network now. She got that ownership. She can pass that down.
Black people as a whole don't own shyt even when having the money to do so. Look how many white actors own their own production companies now. Look at Tyler perry owning his shyt but spike lee begging to get a movie made.
No we shouldn't all have it now. But we should all damn sure be thinking bout owning shyt instead of tricking on hoes and new whips
