Outside @lovelydays window
:comeon: Nah Santana blew that himself. Wayne said it, he would send songs to the nikka and they'd never get sent back. Those songs ended up becoming Like Father Like Son or whatever...Why would wayne waste his time on something he tried to do and failed in the past and Juelz in't even hot anymore
Thank you for breaking that down for me. I always assumed it was the other way around.

It seems far fetched to us but not to white people. Which is why we always come back to wealth vs being rich

Oprah is a billionaire. You think she couldn't have said fukk abc 10-15 years ago and made her own network and put the exact same show on but owned it?

Look at cash money. They just resigned with universal. All that stunting baby does and he couldn't have said fukk that, and owned his own shyt and just paid for a distributor??

I don't have the answers. Sorry sway. But the point is blacks as a whole are HAPPY to sign a contract (sports, entertainment) rather than try and own their own shyt.

Yea it would take forever to get on that level. Maybe 50, 100, 150 years but that's the point of generational wealth. It takes many generations with the same goal.

So one day some kid with your last name owns a billion dollar company that says "since 2013" but it's the year 2134
What are you dudes basing your shyt about black people not owning shyt?
NO MAN OWNS OR FOUNDED ANY OF THE MAJOR LABELS. You'll have to go back 80 years and see who started these small labels smaller than Roc-a-fella or Cash Money or whatever the fukk.. All these small labels creates the majors(and birdman owns cmr, he's just not the sole owner). Why don't we own sports teams? Cause it's a billionaires game, we didn't have complete freedom until what 50 years ago? We missed the whole industrial revolution and on.. So obviously with how the system works it will take some time for us to grow in the amount of billionaires in order to own more sports teams. You dudes are strictly analyzing musicians and athletes and asking why we don't own shyt. Why does white athletes or musicians own shyt? Why didn't Paul McCartney who is way richer than Jay start a major label? These are smart people we are talking about yet you wanna talk about them as if they were all fools and the coli posters know a lot better.

To even speak of "generational wealth" in 2013 in regards to black people is disrespecting the history of why we don't have any.

Which is why I didn't say shyt about having it now....

If jay and them KEPT roc instead of selling it off bit by bit. Then selling it completely. Only for "worth half a billy" Jay to sign to another label when he already owned one...... Then maybe blue ivy's great grand kids would be teaming up with baby's great great grand kids along with diddys....... To put that shyt together

Paul McCartney couldn't even buy his own masters. MJ bought those out so get him out of here. Jay was a label owner. Now he's on a label. Jay was a sports team owner, albeit small... Now he's partnered with CAA as a figurehead. He have up ownership for bigger checks

Where Jordan is a franchise owner. So don't say we aren't owners. He went from an employee to an owner. He can pass that to his kids and their kids and their kids. The Jordan's can be a household name in 200 years if the nba is around in 200 years and they don't sell it off. Jay ain't leaving blue no damn ownership

Oprah got her network now. She got that ownership. She can pass that down.

Black people as a whole don't own shyt even when having the money to do so. Look how many white actors own their own production companies now. Look at Tyler perry owning his shyt but spike lee begging to get a movie made.

No we shouldn't all have it now. But we should all damn sure be thinking bout owning shyt instead of tricking on hoes and new whips

So he should've passed down Neek, Oschino and those worthless masters to Blue? All
Companies are not meant to be forever. Specially companies with a lot of goodwill. Jay can pass on the properties he owns, all the shares in the companies and the money (and rocawear is doing better than the roc ever did). I don't know why you are praying for that though. If Blue is raised correctly like Warren Buffets kids she won't be expecting shyt and will use her parents to achieve her own.

As far as comparing people, some people are artists like Spike Lee, some are businessmen like Perry. The point is that you are talking about Jay and letting him represents black businessmen and forgetting about the fact that he's a musician/music mogul who owns more than most or any musician you can mention. In 2014 nearly everything that's big enough is public, people own shares and that's what you pass down. Of course there are exceptions but I can guarantee you that those exceptions are not active within music.

A-Mafia only made different songs in his life? Man you really need to listen to his mixtapes...

Who the fukk hates Banks??? I think Banks is dope as fukk as a rapper. I like almost all of his music minus the Rotten Apple album. I just said he has no charisma.

I don't hate Vado I just think he's a mediocre rapper though.
