It's not sucka shyt it's business.

Mac had the song on different platforms and it was registered on BMI. You can't call it a mixtape song when you're collecting royalties on it.

Mac was profiting off a beat Finesse made without crediting him. He spoke to Mac directly and said he didn't understand the business aspect so he had to get at Mac's label or whoever handles his business. They weren't moving correct so it spiraled into a lawsuit.

Finesse did nothing wrong unless you think it's okay to use someone's beat, profit off it, and not pay them.

Once Mac's people decided to platform the song a call should have been made to clear it with Finesse and credit him so he could eat. It's no longer a mixtape/promotional song. They stole his beat but he's wrong? That logic ain't holding up.
Couldn’t believe it then and still can’t today that Black men on this site were and still are siding with a cac over Finesse. It’s still so :demonic: and :mjpls:, friends:

I remember Mac settled with Finesse because Finesse never cleared his OG sample. Its hard to win a suit against someone when you're doing the exact same thing.
Finesse sampled the OG and created his own beat while Mac used Finesse’s whole beat/production. It’s not the same at all, friend.

This here.

Not clearing a sample is one thing. Even though he did clear it. But using Finesse's whole beat and making bread off his work, is something entirely different.

I know that, but in terms of copyright law theres not much difference.

I don't have any more info on this situation. I guess it was a "better to ask forgiveness than permission" situation for Miller. But yeah he should have done the right thing, sample snitching was not cool either.
