You know
Late 80's to late 90's hip-hop changed dramatically every 2-3 years.

Cam was watching Nas on Video Music Box.

Let's say you are a 15 year old aspiring mc and you like to battle rap. If someone brings a 12 year old to you and tells you they can rap too, would you be hesitant about battling him? If so, why? Isn't he the same generation?
They’re the same generation both in their 20s at the time. You’re bringing up bring 12 and 15? :mjlol:

If you lived through this you'd understand better. If you only watched hip-hop on TV & the internet what I'm saying wouldn't make sense. Technically they are the same generation, so Cam didn't say anything wrong. But they aren't peers. Hip-hop moves too fast, three years will give you a different set of influences.

Guys like Nas & Cam were already rapping in high school. You couldn't get on if you weren't. So a 3 year gap is a big difference.

very nice to see Cam talking into a phones camera and its sincere and not clowning anybody or talking shyt

I remember Hip-Hop (Biggs brother, Rocafella etc) said the first time he heard Illmatic, Cam rode his bike over and they listened to it together.

poor Nashawn man, ended up getting chased around the Bronx by Freekey and Brazi all because Nas said Cam album was trash

Nashawn dissed them as well on a mixtape so he isn't like an innocent bystander.

Said it before but Nas is respected on another level by his peers. They see him as the Golden Child.

Jay sampled him how many times, Jim Jones wanted to dress like him, Cam says hes the best lyricist & Jeezy said he humbled him.

All the people who beefed him are fans of him and look up to him musically and either felt away about his aloofness or he said something about their music.

By this logic, are Jay and Nas peers? There is a gap between their debut albums.
