Cam always said that he never had an issue with nas and they went at him because he went at him in the power 105 rocafella rant.

Nas always said that he never had an issue with Cam and only dissed him in the rant because he was on rocafella so he felt like he had to dis him.

The whole beef was avoidable and shouldn't have happened honestly.

Y’all nggas think Nas can do no wrong. There’s plenty of beefs that started over ambiguous stupid reasons and overreactions. This wasn’t one of ‘em. Nas called out Cam by name.

I buy these people albums and they ain’t talking about nothing. From Cam to… I mean like Cam and everything. He’s a good lyricist but the album [Come Home With Me] is wack.”

TYRONE GA!
Said it before but Nas is respected on another level by his peers. They see him as the Golden Child.

Jay sampled him how many times, Jim Jones wanted to dress like him, Cam says hes the best lyricist & Jeezy said he humbled him.

All the people who beefed him are fans of him and look up to him musically and either felt away about his aloofness or he said something about their music.

This.

By this logic, are Jay and Nas peers? There is a gap between their debut albums.

Imo Jay was the generation before Nas. His original rap style makes it obvious too. Using industry release dates doesn't tell the full picture. Jay was on Video Music Box with Jaz rapping before Nas starting calling himself Nas. Look at the way Jay is presented in this 1993 video, as if he an OG. He was already somebody, his people just couldn't get him to put his all into rap.

A better example of my point would be Brand Nubian. They all came out together but those were Puba's little homies/new acts.
They weren't his peers at that time. Puba was older and already a polished act. He just didn't have big exposure.

Cam didn't say anything wrong. What the thread has become now should really be a separate discussion, my bad for that

He said he's a good lyricist but his album was wack. That's not a hardcore dis. Pretty mild in fact.

Yea you wasn’t there :umad:

This was a more masculine, ego, street era. Calling someone album wack in 2004 was beef worthy. Beefs started for less. Hell nggas eventually died for less. Fym
OK, and what did Cam do but make a bunch of dis songs that he later admitted he flooded the market with because he knew Nas could end him with the right verse. He never even contemplated anything street or physical that's how non-street this beef was. lol

Sounds like you moving the goalpost from your original point….but you still wrong. On drink champs cam speaking on the Nas situation specifically said ’the nggas i was with at that time didn’t give a fukk’

Just bc nothing happened doesn’t mean it couldn’t have gone bad.

There are plenty of examples… Young Gunz lost one of their mans over some rap beef with major Figgas. Lodi Mack getting killed, in a ‘beef’ that originated simply from Game gettin kicked out of G Unit.

So to retroactively give the rap game more maturity than actually existed at the time is revisionist and hints that you wasn’t there

I'm talking Nas vs Cam specifically and like you said nothing happened. I'm not speaking on the entire rap game.
