Cam'rons Purple Haze turns 15

I remember buying two McGriddles when they first came out.

I bought my first 2/11 Steel Reserve that same morning.

I started listening to Purple Haze in the car. Started smoking a blunt.... but folks were coming out eyeing me, so I got paranoid and went to the house.

I got in and started drinking that beer.... damn, I couldn't believe how powerful that beer was.

Soon as I started feeling it and started eating the McGriddle, the sun started coming up. And this started playing.

Beautifully produced album and a personal favorite but I prefer CHWM.. shyts damn near a perfect album from beginning to end minus the last track “Tomorrow”

I remember buying Purple Haze and R.U.L.E, on the same day, somewhere around their release dates, in mid December. Both got a lot of play from me, for at least that month. Purple Haze had some dope moments, but Cam was losing it by then, already. His lyrics got so goody and nonsensical, it was nice to hear some return to form on tracks like Leave Me Alone, and I always liked "Hey Lady" more than "Girls".

I was into "Yeyo Man", few other tracks, at the time, but without me actually being high on cocaine and drinking Remy out of the bottle, and not in high school, most of the album is unlistenable, outside of pure nostalgia. These songs have no emotional center to them, it's like window dressing music.

When he was on rap radar podcast he said purple haze was considered one of his best albums and he enjoyed making it the most. Also that the fans love that one and that’s the reason his new album is purple haze 2 as well as the anniversary. nikkas don’t celebrate anniversaries for albums they don’t consider they best work ‍
