Knicks finally figured out what every other team in the NBA should’ve been figured out when playing Boston: they don’t want to shoot layups. Don’t overcommit on drives and stay home on shooters.

Bridges got caught with his hand in the cookie jar and left his assignment unless the game would’ve never went into OT. You have to expect the kick out for a 3 every possession

Celtics want to volume shoot teams out of the game

Also, the Knicks started making shots which prevented the Celtics from getting easy transition 3s

At their core, Boston is still the same team that got down 0-3 to an 8th seed, nearly choked to PHI, and fumbled a 2-1 lead to GSW. Their additional pieces (Jru, KP) gave them a larger margin for error last year but those mental lapses/inherent flaws are still there. Tatum and Brown still liable to be streaky, struggle offensive players. Boston could win the next 2 games in routes or find themselves down a 1-2 hole, and neither would surprise me.

What a game !

Fukk boston!!!

Knicks made a huge come back and won 108-105 after trailing by more than 20 points in the third quarter. Partly because the Celtics set the record for most missed 3s in a playoff game.

Towns and Bridges had great performances tonight especially in overtime. Bridges was as clutch on defense as on offense.
Bridges earned his money yesterday

Celtics did last night what they have a bad habit of doing, can’t even say it’s a Mazzulla thing bc it happened with Ime & Stevens too

Get a big lead, then completely go away from everything that got you the lead. Soften up on defense, start playing casual on offense just coming down taking rushed early shot clock 3s. It’s like they expect the other team to roll over and quit, then next thing you know a comfortable win has become a game where you’re fighting for your life

They had more 2PA in the 2nd quarter than the 2nd half/OT combined, they built the lead from living in the paint. Then decided to spend the rest of the game shooting stepback 3s

What's crazy is the Knicks cut that lead down QUICK and nikkas were still taking stepback 3s. I know if KG was on the team he would've choked somebody.

This can be misleading as it doesn’t tell you who was wide open or how far behind the line they were. Some guys are more open than others for a reason

Tatum/Brown/White took 41 of the 60 3 pointers last night and there’s no weak link on the Celtics 3 point shooters. They’re all capable of hitting OPEN or WIDE OPEN 3 point shots, they shoot 39% on those type of shots as a team for the season.

Whole team is above league average 3pt shooters. Not like they were leaving Luke Kornet open to shoot from 23'.

Meh

Outside of G1 against Dallas, Porzingis has given us nothing in the playoffs

Tatum & Brown still have their cold spells and bad habits, but I think they’ve also grown as players over the last 2-3 years

Not to mention that moving guys like Smart & Grant Williams was addition by subtraction
