I always respected him, had his albums in my teens but it wasn't until I was like 18/19 until I started get more into lyricism and poetry type dudes that I respected him more. Before that it was more like animated spitfire wordplay dudes (Em, X, Redman, Busta,Mystikal)

They didn't come out at the same time nikka. Get At Me Dog was X's FIRST single as a def jam artist. nikka have u seen the video for that shyt? U can barely make out any words on the Edited version cause he refused to make a radio friendly version of it at the time. Party Up came out 2 years later and after DMX was already a successful artist and gettin into movies n shyt. It wasn't even the first single on THAT album. What's My Name was.
