Here's just ONE glaring flaw in your logic:

Ross is BIG clone.

That's one of many but the most heinous.
I was waiting for this point to be made. Why exactly is it that of all rappers you could compare Ross to, Biggie seems to be the one that consistently gets brought up, both on this board and the one that shall not be named? The reason people laugh at this comparison is because it's ridiculous to say someone so clearly influenced by another is better than that person without having compiled a compelling case for being better.

Its all opinions though. Y'all ain't quoting no verses or even naming songs. Basically your only argument for Big is that he just "was".

And if the only thing u can come up with is "Hustlin" and "BMF" as classic songs for Ross, your just as ignorant as someone who can only name "Big Poppa" and Mo Money Mo problems" as classic songs for Big.

Up your Ross discography IQ before u try to argue whose better....

Where are the Ross verses being posted? When you're bringing someone up for consideration to be better than a legendary MC on many people's list of greatest ever, the onus is on you to come with some evidence. You notice no one is making any Notorious B.I.G >>>Rick Ross threads? Because that would be silly. It's understood that B.I.G is better. Everyone knows Biggie's work already. Please, feel free to expand on your argument for Ross being better: drop verses, go into their skillsets, etc. If you do that I'm sure people will respond with their own verses.

I couldn't recite a single Ross verse and I ave all his releases and even like some of them.

Biggie verses are embedded in the subconscious. They're part of my hip hop DNA. And I'm a Wu guy.

None of those except Snoop & Dre are in the same league as BIG.

Lol at TI, Wayne and Kanye. Lolololol. Good one.

dumbass, its not about who's in the who's league. it's about the timing of their careers. you 90s nikkas overrate Big because he died at the apex of his. he got to go out like Jordan in 98. you never had to see the nikka :flabbynsick:

we'd overrate nearly every dope rapper if they died at the peak of their popularity. Get a clue nikka.

Listen you little scrub. Big Daddy Kane is a god off TWO albums. In hip hop, the shelf life of artists can end so quickly that you're judged off your best work. It's how Nas has been mediocre for 10 years and still hailed.

Ross' best work is already playing out. It isn't top tier. He's a sham. He's carried by beats. And reps the most pathetic era of rap to date.

Sorry. It is what it is.

Ross is so much better than Biggie it's not even funny. The only similarities in Ross & Biggie is they both fat, black, wear shades and hang with Puffy. Other than that they ain't even similiar. Ross is far more advanced than Biggie. Biggie doesn't have any great lyrical songs or songs that say awe man thats ill. Actually the similarity in Biggie & Ross is they both ride smooth grooves very well.

Is it opposite day? Anything you just said about BIG more applies to Ross, than BIG.

And I think I need to clarify something....BIG is definitely over rated due to dying....but he was "that dude" when "Ready To Die" dropped. He was seen as a beast, magazine covers, praise from his peers, crowned the future of NY, record sales, the whole 9. So while BIG is over rated because he died, he was already on a different level than Ross long before that. It's ok to acknowledge that BIG is over rated because he died, it's not ok to pin his whole legacy and career on it.

It applies more to Ross than Biggie. Biggie's claim to fame is rapping over already classic songs. Real impressive. "Juicy" from the Mtume classic "Juicy Fruit", "Big Poppa" The Isley's Classic "Between The Sheets", "One More Chance" DeBarge's classic "Stay With Me".

Well of course he was ona larger level tahn Ross in '94, nobody knew he existed. And no not everybody was impressed with Biggie. Everyone was nuthugging Nas and Wu.

:what:

Victory, Gimme the loot, "Long Kiss goodnight" or even the first verse of "Juicy" doesn't give that effect?

The first verse of Juicy is timeless.

Juicy is classic but that doesn't make it great lyrically or awe inspiring. "The Show" is IMO, the greatest rap song ever but it's simple as hell.

nikkas still over here talking bout big is only good cuz he's dead :stopitslime:

rick ross wouldn't be anyone important if he didn't have features on his music.

big had very little features and managed to become one of the greatest to do it.

theres no comparison. fukk what u heard.

Listen you old geezer, BDK isn't sucked off by every wanna-be hip hop head. Since we seen him fall off, we aren't blinded & can put shyt into proper prospective. I can say BDK was "aight" without much response. I say that about Biggie & nikkas get :birdman:

i own both albums & probably know Big's shyt better than you breh. i just think its :scusthov: that because a nikka died when he was "that nikka", he became a martyr for hip hop & is considered better than nikkas who put in way more work than him (not really talkin about Ross here). best believe, every veteran rapper feels this way but wont say it

Nas: "I been out 18 years, dropped 10 odd albums, stayed relevant through multiple eras...
Fan: considers him second best to a 24 yo kid who was around for 3...
Nas: *thinks to self* :pacspit:
