Rick Ross - Magnificent Lyrics ft. John Legend [New Video] - YouTube
Here I Am - Rick Ross feat Nelly and Avery Storm - YouTube
tracks like those woulda been hits in the 90s, plus the RnB scene back then wouldve benefited Ross because he's great at mixing hiphop with rnb(a lost art if u ask me.) I know Ross woulda hit up Jodeci or Boys to Men for some hooks
Ross understands how to make that "feel good" music that was popular back then
"here i am" would not be a hit at all in the '90s. it prolly wouldnt even exist.
"magnificent" would be a lower-tier rap city hit at best.
and r&b singers werent running around hoppin on rappers tracks all willy-nilly like that unless they were in a crew with rappers. other than that, when they hopped on a track, it was a big deal. and rick ross wouldnt have had access to a jodeci or boyz II men. like dude said, at best, he would be 8ball & mjg status.

. Rozay got a few rap/r&b joints don't get me wrong, from the joint on his 1st album with Mario Winans, to Aston Martin Music with Chrissette. But nothing Ross has ever dropped can capture that feeling of hearing, the "one more chance remix", or "i'm fukking you tonight", or on some street shyt "i love the dough", "back to cali", "nikkas bleed", or his verse on "last days", "warning" etc.

i love watching curent rappers move up my list.
