Currently the Coli's beloved A Rod is at 680 career home runs. Lets say he gets to 685 at seasons end. That means he has 77 left.If he spends 2 more seasons with Yankees and hits lets say 55 more home runs. Can he break the record in 2018 with the Yankees or another team.Or come back on some Mr.3000 type hype :lolbron:

Dont see it happening, hes 40, and 77 more HR would probably take 3+ more seasons (and he needs to stay healthy)

Damn, didn't even actually realize he was that close. He's gonna play until he breaks it.

naw he gonna break it,just might be in a Marlins uniform or something.I cant see him coming short. If he gets a ring he might be more tempted to walk away,70 Home runs in 3 seasons isn't impossible for a DH of his caliber

Yeah, but that's where being a DH helps him. I still don't think he gets there. He will have to play 3 more seasons and keep his power.

Bonds was 43 when he broke the record and Bonds missed almost a whole season 2 years before (when he was 40-41). The year off has helped A Rod and as DH that will motivate him.Seems like his power is still there from 2009-2010.

Yeah, it helps, but still, he pretty much cant have 1 injury setback

His power numbers will decline in the next few years, hes going to need 4 seasons to break it, with no injuries

Very unlikely

As long as a team signs him he will break it I think. I didn't know he was close either and if he wasn't suspended last season he would be that much closer to having the record.

I vote yes he's too close to not break it. As long as he remains productive he'll have a spot on someone's roster.
