Can one of you basketball geniuses explain why Mosgov got hardly any burn in the second half?

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Blatt is an idiot. Let the other coach get your 2nd best player off the floor because "matchups"

Blatt has done an excellent job this series, they have gone with Thompson over Mozgov all season to close out games.

The problem with Mozgov when the Warriors are small is that if Green gets the board he cannot keep up when Draymond pushes it up the floor, you can deal with that in the first half, but Draymond pushing the break on defensive boards in the 4th quarter is how open threes happen.

We haven't seen much of that in this series. Looking at that 3 minute stretch after Cleveland went up 11 did Thompson have a positive effect on the outcome? He missed free-throws and had them playing 4 on 5 offense when they were struggling to score. At that point in the game you can trade baskets and win.

That all good and all but TT isn't giving them anything offensively :francis:

Tristan Thompson was -21 tonight.
Mozgov was +11.

Moz held his own when GS went small in the first half. If its not broke, don't fix it. Also would've killed the hack a Thompson.
Let's use that logic then - the Cavs have had success ALL postseason with Thompson at the 5 to close out games, when teams downsize.

The thing is that they'd be potentially giving up clean looks from 3, especially when the Warriors run the PnR with Curry and Green and Mozgov can't quite get out to blitz and recover like Tristan. There could be breakdowns on the floor with Mozgov that gives someone too much room for a 3. I get why they're leaving Thompson out there, he's a better team defender, especially against small lineups.

They're not giving up 11+ threes like the Rockets and Grizz were either, the Warriors would try and get Mozgov in a 1 on 1 situation with Curry, and that's when he starts dancing and can find his rhythm :francis:

Matchups are VERY important breh.

GS would have exploited the hell out of Mosgov checking Green.

it's a mis-match but let's be real...dray ain't all that offensively. on that side of the ball, he's totally a product of the system. like, what the fukk can he really do? he's not a shooter, he's not a real ball-handler, he's not a post-player, he can find steph or klay coming off screens, he can hit a cutter every now and then...but he's not a guy you'd ever run sets for. given the squad that's he on, he's a good fill-in-the-blanks type of guy offensively. the biggest advantage dray actually has, is that he can grab a rebound, push it up the floor and get into transition/early offense....because he has shooters who are happy to take that 3. outside of that...let him try. :yeshrug:

I will admit that my ball knowledge is not on part with others but I thought it was Delly job to cancel out Curry :francis:

TT also is the reason jump ball happened. He brought his defender right to the middle of the paint. Dude was just off today.

I'd rather go late in the game with Mozgov because you need something offensively. Cavs are way too predictable and TT isnt even trying to be a threat to score. If Kyrie and Kevin Love were healthy...go with TT. But without them...eh...

mozgov has beasted them though. you cant sit a player who is playing well like that. green is getting too much respect IMO. there are also two sides of floor. they cant guard him either.

you have to at least try it out. im not believing green is going to win them a game
