Can one of you basketball geniuses explain why Mosgov got hardly any burn in the second half?

The thing is that they'd be potentially giving up clean looks from 3, especially when the Warriors run the PnR with Curry and Green and Mozgov can't quite get out to blitz and recover like Tristan. There could be breakdowns on the floor with Mozgov that gives someone too much room for a 3. I get why they're leaving Thompson out there, he's a better team defender, especially against small lineups.

Go back and watch the end of the 1st half. Warriors went small and Cleveland left Mozgov out there. They put him on Iguadola and jumped the pick when AI set it. Iggy got a few looks, but he's one of their worse 3pt shooters. More importantly Mozgov was able to contest and alter shots at the rim. On offense they attacked Green in the paint (remember he had 4 fouls in the 4th).

Thompson is really not that great when he switches, especially if Steph is smart and takes it to the rim where there is nobody to defend the paint, which is what he did down the stretch.

mozgov has beasted them though. you cant sit a player who is playing well like that. green is getting too much respect IMO. there are also two sides of floor. they cant guard him either.

you have to at least try it out. im not believing green is going to win them a game
The chain reaction of events that can occur go well beyond Green winning them the game (by himself). I still don't know why we're speaking in a relative tense like the Cavs lost the game - this is the most perplexing thing - we're actually microanalyzing the adjustments of a first year coach who's working with a seven-man rotation and a minimal amount of talent IN THE FINALS.

When the Warriors ran small and we had moz out there he did great on iggy but he gave up open 3s he was hesitant it worked but down the strech you don't want iggy to create no get those open looks that's why TT was out there

Why are you quoting "matchups" like that's not a real factor? Thecoli coaches, y'all

Because this defense that everybody seems to be touting ends up with Thompson on the MVP on the perimeter. That's not a good matchup either. They did the same thing in Atlanta and Teague torched Tristan. Cavs autoswitch when TT's man set's the pick like he's prime Garnett its insane.

Seems like an effective strategy, I will say this, I expect Moz to see more of the 2nd half back in Cleveland because low key, Golden States does not have the beef (nh) to compete with him under the rim. Bogut is good, but he's clearly getting beat up out there.

And for the most part that didn't happen last night, or more specifically they couldn't take advantage of it. But that's still far better a match up than Mozgov on Curry

If Cleveland gets some calls go their way at home, Bogut could foul out against Mozgov. Dude holds him to extreme degrees every play basically

Green too, they both set illegal picks all game. Green is slick though, he committed two fouls on jump balls and got away with it.
