Not exactly. In probable terms it's definitely possible, but I don't think it'll be anything too major. The point of contention is whether these customized bits go above and beyond the function of just being a part of the motherboard design. Sometihng I thought about is they don't have to adhere to standards like conventional PC parts. Riskier, unconventional design in the PC space can flop just off of low sales, build quantities and price, but for Sony can pay off because they'll be selling X millions of console units guaranteed. Another good contention area is that it can help speed up everything else outside of games. I know the UI on the XBO is still clunky in some areas, and I bet loading assets from the web and caching to the drive plays a part in it. Unfortunately, SSDs in current consoles don't blow the HDD out like it would on PC, as the consoles aren't designed for it... which is where a more lower level, ground up approach comes in for the next generation.


As it currently stands I think it does nothing major, but I'm open to seeing if it does do anything positive. I know it is a troll thread but I always look forwards to seeing what consoles bring in tech wise.

Which Sony joined because.. well, you know I have a fascinating question for you tho. When the xbox cloud was first being shown they had halo 4 running on mobile. The cloud today runs xbox one games in 1080p wherever. And this same cloud increases in power and will be on the series x level this year. So the question is how powerful is the cloud? And how powerful will it become. That crackdown 3 demo is exactly what we're stepping into.

For starters the ps4 is more powerful than the xbox one. The xb1x only came out 3yrs ago so it's disingenuous to say "xbox" is more powerful when the majority of people don't have the 1x. It's like saying you'll just play a game on PC when the average PC is less capable than an OG xbox one. I have a one x and Sony pays developers to keep parity so games like cod and tekken run better and faster on the less capable and slower ps4pro. You then name dropping Nintendo like if Nintendo has anything to do with Sony and Microsoft? They not even competing with each other, only Sony and Microsoft are battling for adult gamers. Nobody playing madden and 2k and Nintendo, first person shooters? Games that men can play and still be men when they put the controller down. Nintendo can't guarantee that, most Nintendo fanboys who are grown are weirdos (somebody had to say what needed to be said) but enough about that. If you want the best looking and playing games anywhere, get a series x this fall

What kind of gaming pc do you have? When people say the line you just used 99% of the time it's a Sony fanboy without a gaming PC.

Most PC's are weaker than the xbox one (facts) so claiming you'll get it on PC while downplaying the greatness of gamepass, that's really all i needed to see. and no most of the world doesn't have data caps and what a coincidence that limits on cell phones have been lifted during this pandemic. Stupid as he may sound, did you actually watch the video?

Devs are stating Velocity is 20 to 30 faster than Kraken at texture streaming. IF so, that's another big advantage. PS5 MIGHT be only better at loading times.

I agree with you that we need to see actual games, though. shyt looking a bit spooky for Sony though.
