never came across anybody that liked it til recently but hey you like what you like.
you think its better than Liquid Swords tho?
I was legit upset when Swordsman was left off the official instrumentals. This is the best fan made version of it that I've foundI've only opened it twice since I copped it but one thing that was invaluable for me was the legit instrumentals of all beats including "swordsman". At that time you couldnt find those instrumentals on the internet, it didnt exist, only fan made looped shyt. So when I threw that on the turntable shyt was crazy. Other than that its just a nice mantle piece joint you open up every now and then and enjoy looking at.
I feel like a lot of the leftover joints Rza made during that time was used for Wu affiliate tracks and random features.
The RZA and AZ track on AZ album was something lifted straight out of that era. The vault must be crazy.
well ok then, gotchu

this is not an 85 affairmy neighbor was listening to 'duel of the iron mic' in his car this morning![]()
you might be smooth brained 85erFrom the days of being a Joey bumping Wu to a grown ass marsupial growing greys, I never for the love of me understood why Liquid Swords is put on such a pedestal.
Each time I listen to the album back and forth, I come up with the same thoughts:
I just don't get it
- The album is boring as hell
- The theme didn't quite grab me compared to OB4CL
- The beats just missing something
. Am I'm misguided, smooth brained, or lost in the sauce because for the love of me I always thought this project was overrated as hell? Can a Wu head help me understand the madness and give me insight on why Liquid Swords is considered one of the best Wu albums, if not the best Wu album of all time

^^^^^^ never was a fan of them or as individuals, like certain things but never some huge fanI mean outside of a few joints I never got the love for Wu as a collective. NEVER.
Love ODB and Method Man though
But with the arguable Daytona 500, those aren't even the best tracks on those albums. They probably aren't top half. But if you mean anchor tracks, I get it, but once again, Daytona doesn't fall into that category either.
And then Meth isn't even charismatic on Tical. He pretty forgettable, outside of Bring the Pain.
I think amongst the Wu, they're a group in which the status of the member enhances the listening experience for the rap fan. In the eyes of the public, GZA is just another member, so most will brush off this album, but on its own, it's an incredible album. There's this, and Cuban neck & neck. A similar feel is MK's No Said Date. The album is amazing, and competes with Ironman amongst the 3rd best Wu 1st solos. But it's also MK, so people will brush it off.
Liquid Swords is an incredible album of perfectly crafted thoughts on the industry and life in the East (Northeast), during the winter. Like Illmatic, while they aren't movies, they are indeed cinematic.
i'll keep it short n sweet
Sharp and vivid lyrics over dark/hard production
Gold is that shyt!
