i refuse to conform
lol at camron having abc rhymes

cam one of the illest multisyllabic rhymers ever

example

When I was 10 got the truly dict, My uncle pulled me to the side
And he schooled me quick, told me son gooey- spit
You can't get paid in a earth this big, you worthless kid
nikkas don't deserve to live, go and get a motherfukker
if he murder kids, bottle up carbohydrates and pre-servatives
He got hit up that same night

of course it did, thats cause the dipset "movement" was bigger outside than hood than in.

the whole dipset/killa cam shyt was basically the lil b prototype. the same folks who rode the dipset wave heavy is the same ones talking bout "thank you based god". its the same exact shyt, its liking something ironically gone wrong, where folks cant tell if they actually like it or are being ironic. the difference is that cam could actually spit when he wanted to, he just didn't want to that often during the dipset period.

Cam's biggest draw card is his wordplay IMO from playing with words to get multis, to the double entendres and use of homonyms. the movement is something you really had to go through, i was never a HUGE Dip Set fan but i had my time of bumping DI, Juelz albums & mixtapes and Ryder Muzik as well as Cam albums.

Come on papi killa cam was killin shyt back then...

Mic Skills?

Yeah this nikka was neva on some deep soul touchin' shyt, but his technical skills was on point. Ill rhyme schemes, multis for days, sick wordplay, and some pretty good narratives mixed with all of that...

I can admit this nikka would sometimes spit some shyt that went over most peoples heads, but that's him usin' his local harlem slang... nikka neva sold out on his lyrics for a broader audience... gotta give him credit for that...

Image?

That thug-blood-fresh-clothes swag took over the eastcoast... nikkaz everywhere was tryina either imitate G units or Dipsets image... with the bandanas and shyt...

Influence?

nikka had hood nikkaz nationwide rockin' pink... everybody in ny and the eastcoast tryina be a blood, no homo, lil wayne took dipsets cams image and ran with it....

I think what made cam hot also lead to his downfall... nikka was original with it and was ridin for hisself and nobody else... which didnt earn him too many friends at the top... Plus I always felt jay-z and 50 always viewed him as a threat... specially jigga who Im pretty sure is reponsible for his shortlived mainstream success
