I keep hearing about what you can and can’t do with an average salary. But can we come to the conclusion what the average salary for a black man is? So when we discussing salary and stuff I know what y’all kicking. I don’t want no stats no facts just y’all opinions.

I don't think brothers are on here saying it's peasant money but all of this shyt is relative. When you're earning 100K, you're not living like brothers earning 30k, while you might both be paying for the same things, housing, car notes, food, the person making more money is going to be paying more for those same things. There are plenty people earning 100K a year and living paycheck to paycheck, it's easy to look at them crazy but I think it's worth parsing out to find out why that is.

I'm in my early 30's and just hit a lil over 50k/yr at my main job in the public sector that I'm possibly stuck at for life (tryna to get the pension) and I make about 10k/yr from my gig job.

My city was inexpensive but it's ridiculous right now. For example I was paying 775/mo in 2020 and now I am paying 1250.

I've met some other brothers in the public sector and they were in the 50k-70k range. A few were retired military so they probably getting two salaries.

many factors to be considered. I’m 6 figures. The CTO at my company is black as well and I don’t know what he makes but it’s a lot more than me.

I think it would be more interesting if you asked the question about a particular industry. For example software engineers, ctos, etc.
