I think it also needs to be said that brands that cater to the young urban community just don't last. FUBU, Karl Kani, Cross Colours, Rocawear, Sean John, Baby Phat, Ecko, Akademics etc. Gucci, LV, etc had a known name before the hip hop culture was even born.

Our fashion tastes evolved though as we got older. And they had a lane I wasn't going to continue wearing indefinitely, plus I don't recall seeing them in stores as much after a while so![]()
