B team did A team in breh.....accept the facts

Like I said

Amerie has never had a platinum album, she barely touched gold on all of them

Here's the reality...

Amerie dropped in 2002, barley went gold, and had the highest charting song only reach #23 on the billboard hot 100

Beyoncé dropped in 2003, went 4x platinum, had 2 #1 hits, a song that was #3 and a song that reached #4 on the billboard hot 100. (4 songs in the top 5)

Since people keep using Rich Harrison as the deciding factor I'll mention that her other #1 hit was produced by Scott storch, in fact storch also produced that #3 and #4

It's safe to say that the competition between them that people speak of actually never existed
:francis:

Rich Harrison seems to be the reasoning y'all use which his hilarious because out of the 8 hits she had on her first two albums he is responsible for only 1.

Ima let y'all cook though

Amerie has had at least three albums...sometimes it's not a conspiracy. She just didn't pop.

That's all it is man. 1 thing was a huge song that was EVERYWHERE so you can't say the promotion wasn't there, they definitely put money into her. Unfortunately for her that album barely touched gold and she was dropped. Labels can't stop fans from buying albums

The fanbase that mattes at heart to urban rnb artists and producers is the urban fanbase.....and there was definitely competition between them two amongst the urban fanbase.....Beyoncé sold that way because she also brings along her fair weather pop fanbase from destiny's child.....but at the core of urban Rnb Beyoncé was #1 with Amerie holdin a close #2 especially around 04/05.......it's the reason 1 thing still gets spins today.....she was a bonafide extremely popular artist.......especially amongst the urban core..........

Truth is record companies are really just music investors today as opposed to when they used to be music enthusiasts back when.....so Beyoncé is alone and reigns because financially she is the safe bet for investment value.....record companies are low risk high reward minded today.....and Matthew knowles sold Beyoncé as that. They blackballed the industry breh.......her daddy was havin investment dinners wit the high label execs while other artists like (Amerie and hilson) were in the studio or doin shows/clubs........b team wasn't playin fair bout the dough......just like Diana Ross schmoozing to Barry Gordy back in the day.......ain't nothin' new......but it's the fans that suffer from lack of options:manny:........then they brainwash some of the public to become "internet b hive" followers so they don't pay attention to the lack of diversity .......facts

What people also fail to mention is that Amerie and Rich Harrison was in a "relationship" for a minute, shyt went south between them, and so did their professional relationship.

That industry shyt gets weird

Crazy In Love (Beyonce's 1st hit) was originally Amerie's 1st single for her sophomore album in 03 after she went on tour an her first album went gold in 02, Beyonce heard it before it dropped on the radio and liked it so Matthew Knowles pulled a Suge Knight move behind the scenes and it ends up as her 1st single for her debut album. Amerie has to scrap her whole album and start over again and drops it in 2005, 1 Thing (which was on the Hitch soundtrack) becomes a huge hit so she came back in a way but she could've had Crazy in Love supplement her career

Matthew Knowles ironically also had Toya (I Do) taken off Dilemma and replaced with Kelly Rowland, which was a megahit and jumpstarted her career, and left Toya in the dust

:ohhh: Wow man...

That's cool but let's not act like Amerie and Keri Hilson had the potential to be the type of entertainer Beyoncé is.
Also it ain't like Beyoncé doesn't have the total package. Looks, above average voice, and dancing. That's hard to beat.

Amerie wasn't holding down no damn #2 spot. if anything Alicia keys was 1 and Beyoncé was 2, not to mention Mary and Mariah were still moving units and touching platinum. Like a said 1 thing was a huge single but her album still struggled to go gold. Stop making amerie more than what she was, she was never on that level.

I don't know about that breh. Beyoncé can sing.

being an entertainer is her strong point. thats the reason why her fans always front load that in any conversation regarding her
music wise, she does nothing for me.

Y'all stans :cape: for Beyonce all you want but the music industry is shady AF. Everything said is true, Team B was swagger jacking and when originators made a huff, the industry said :hubie:

It's not the fans who decide which artist pops off, it's the machine. The machine is the record labels, radio stations, media entities & producers. Lady gaga, ariana grande & iggy should be the BIGGEST examples of the machine forcing pop stars onto fans. It's not about talent, it's who can sell records & merch. Also whoever gives "favours" behind closed doors. You heard LA Reid said tierra marie over rihanna, guess who made it? riri can't sing for shyt.

What's the source on that shyt about Toya being on Dilemma? I coulda swore Nelly said that he put Kelly on because his sister wanted her on there or something :ohhh:

He said it in his behind in the music iirc
